DU mentioned in CongressDaily today
I can't post the whole article because it is copyrighted, but props to DU!!

Riding The Cyber Tiger. After watching his friend and colleague, former Senate Minority Leader Daschle, be brought down last year with the help of two bloggers, new Minority Leader Reid has put a premium on the use of Internet activism to energize the Democratic base.

***

Although Senate Democrats find themselves in the rare position of pulling off two big political wins this week, they should be mindful that one of the tools they've relied on most heavily in recent months -- Internet activism -- carries with it a painful check on political power. Just ask Republicans. For years, House and Senate Republicans and GOP field organizers have relied on Web sites like FreeRepublic.com to spread the party's message, engage their conservative base and mobilize troops. And for years, the "Freepers," as the FreeRepublic bloggers are known, did exactly as the Republican National Committee and other GOP leaders had hoped by getting highly motivated -- some might say fanatical in many cases -- conservatives to act as shock troops for the party.

One of the biggest reasons for the success of Internet organizing through sites like FreeRepublic or its liberal counterpart DemocraticUnderground.com is that it allows politicians to play off the most extreme fears and hopes of base voters.

2. Unfortunately we had to be mentioned along side FreeRepubic.
They shouldn't associate us with those hatemongers.

Fighting for Truth Justice and the American way (AKA the light)
While they are FASCIST Storm troopers.
We are educated thinking searchers of the truth.
They are mindless mouth breathing slime regurgitating Right Wing Nuts talking points.

They claim GOD is on their side.
We hope WE are on GOD's side.

9. Unfortunately another example of balance=fair.
Just because folks are on opposite sides of a fight, does ntmean that both sides have an equal claim to be true or right or moral.

Yin and yang aside, I do agree with you that we are NOT just a mirror image of the FreeRepulbic. But how do we get the news out to the folks all across America? Much less, how do we get the message to the MSM?

I had smoke coming out of my ears the other day when CSPAN (yes, CSPAN of all places) had a former Reagan deputey AG who said that there had never before been a filibuster of any judidical nominee. It wasn't even challenged. The host didn't even ask one follow up. WTF? Since when is the taxpayer funded CSPAN just a bullshit bully pulpit for one side? I don't care that they didn't have some one from "the other side" debating him. I just want to see a host who has done his or her homework and makes people defend their lies.

7.  We're the most extreme huh?
I think the DC types just can't handle the fact that most of the American public think they are full of shit.
