I believe we should push for CLEAN ELECTIONS in states nation-wide

I want to thank Amy6627 for showing me this link. All of you, please click here. It's only 14 minutes, but it's inciteful and heartening. Bookmark it if you want:

Now, having watched that video, I believe we should push for this in all the state legislatures across the nation. DU is watched by countless people, and it's a gathering place for activists nationwide. I say it's time to use this place as a launchpad for this idea of clean elections. If Arizona and Maine can do it, so can other states as well. It must be tried. It must be done.

Furthermore, I believe we should combine this push with the push for instituting Instant Run-off Elections. Not only will this further help to level the playing field, it will also encourage even more diversity than with having clean elections alone.

If you want at least some level of reform, these are the two ideas you should be getting behind. It is an attempt to have elections free of the influence of special interests and elections where people no longer have to worry about splintering the vote because they voted their conscience.

I believe these are very realistic, achievable reforms. We can build this movement as the war in Iraq is making people slowly wake up to the harsh reality of special interest politics. It is that awakening that we should use to our advantage to win them over.

1. Yes. Push the Federal government out of voting. It's a state issue.
