Bush is Not the Leader of the Free World. !?
I contend he's qualifies in neither area.

I'd say he is the Puppet Leader of the Corporatist Empire.

Now the question is...what constitutes the FREE World? Switzerland? Ireland? Venezuela?

And who is its leader? Who is the international leader helping the actually free and progressive countries of the globe unite? Is there such a person? If so, how do we hire him here?

1. In a free world.....
you would need no "Leader" and you would certainly not need Bush.

Except of course as a juxtaposition.

3. Right-o
None of our presidents have been or could be "leader of the free world." It's just another one of our ridiculous self-conceits.

4. Who is the most "inspiring" figure for the world?
Desmond Tutu? Nelson Mandela? Arundhoti Roy? Hugo Chávez?

Is there someone who really reaches across the continents at this point to provide inspiration to peoples who are actually TRYING to be FREE rather than TRYING to just buy that new Hummer?

6. Ahh, but he is supposed to be, he is supposed to lead
and have other countries want to follow his example. As President, he has been an utter failure, and even reversed our standing as a nation.

I agree with what you posted.

8. How could Bush be the leader of the free world when
his nation is no longer a part of it?

9. I heard a news story on MPR and they were calling bu$h,
Mr. bush. The correct terminology for the story should have been president bush. There is hope.

10. He is a nemesis to freedom in the world
The freedom he promotes is for the priviledged, the powerful and those who profit from war. The rest of us are there to be his worker bees, and to applaud when a few scraps fall from his table, and to be silent when he lies to us yet again.

I'll pass.

14. Ok...guess DK isn't going to do it for everyone.
Maybe we'd find someone in the UN if we moved the UN to a neutral place where world leaders had enough confidence to really voice their mind?

16. The Big Dog
certainly qualifies in MHO. Outed on his dalliances increased his human-ness. A wife who LUVS him still, and stands by his side, increases his stature.
