1. Beautiful!
And remember the original goal was only 100k. In that case, we're at 449%.

Things slowed down overnight but are moving swiftly now.

1:35 - 448,284 769 in ten minutes

1:45 - 448,929 645 in ten minutes

1:50 - 449,527 698 in five minutes

1:55 - 449,867 340 in five minutes

2:00 - 449,956 89 in five minutes

It reached 450,000 at 2:01PM

2:05- 450,693 737 in five minutes Zoom>Zoom>Zoom

2:15 - 451,396 703 in ten minutes

2:30 - 452,438 1,142 in 15 minutes - 4568 signatures per hour

2:45 - 453,446 1,008 in 15 minutes - 4032 signatures per hour

ETA 11PM EDST

Don't you think that Conyer's staff and MoveOn have pools on when the 500,000 is reached? It has a good chance of coming before midnight in the east.

I can see now that the Internet will yield a new expression. That expression will be "Signatures per hour" which will then yield "SPH" or "sph" At 2:53 a Yahoo search for "signatures per hour" yielded 140 results. The first results talk about people paid to gather signatures like for propositions in California. That result number is destined to change dramatically this year.

3. I keep wondering what it will be next Thursday...
..when Conyers has his hearing and walks the letter demanding answers to shithead's office. Think we'll make a million? I hope all the sigs are valid too. Wouldn't put it past Repugs to all go sign bogus names/email addresses/info to up the numbers, then they turn out to be invalid.

I wonder if Conyer's 'march' and hearings will be televised or even mentioned in the MSM.

9. I disagree...
We have to play the expectations game here, too. If you ask for a million and only get 700,000... well, that doesn't look good. Better to say you asked for 500,000 and got 700,000.

Should we keep up the push? Sure. But, we have now "used up" the moveon resource. Certainly not all their members have signed (last I heard they had 2 million on their mailing list), but I doubt if we would get a whole heap more with a new e-mail alert on the subject.

So, the question remains, where will we get the other 4-500,000 signatures? There aren't many more orgs out there like Moveon. Not impossible, but harder simply due to the law of decreasing returns.

I have begun the mass emailing. My last round was just word of mouth.

22. I think he'll get 1M whether he asks for them or not.
Late yesterday I sent out an email to two justice and peace list servs I'm on. I'm sure I'm not the only one. And absolutely everyone I told about it word of mouth logged on immediately and signed the letter. If he continues gaining signatures at this rate, he'll easily have 3/4 of a million by week's end, and I just don't see it stopping any time soon.
