On Thursday June 16, 2005, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., Ranking Member of House
Judiciary Committee, and other Democratic Members will hold a Democratic
hearing to hear testimony concerning the Downing Street Minutes and the
efforts to cook the books on pre-war intelligence.

I request that these hearings be televised on C-Span. Thank you for
continuing to do excellent work.

Hello C-SPAN! If you weren't planning on covering this event already, Rep. John Conyers and others are holding hearings regarding the Downing Street Minutes on Thursday, June 16 in Washington, D.C. There will also be a rally at Lafayette Park, and Rep. Conyers plans to personally deliver his petition letter to the President. Conyers and MoveOnPAC.org are collecting petition signatures for the letter. As of 6:59 PM EST, they have gotten 466,072 signatures. I'll be watching! This needs to be covered LIVE by C-SPAN because I'm afraid that the 24-hour networks will not be covering the event.

Dear Sir/Madam:

As you know, on May 1 of this year a document now commonly referred to as “|The Downing Street Memo” was released into the British Press. This document raises serious question about how the administration was handling intelligence related to Iraq and appears to suggest that the Bush Administration had already decided on war when publicly it was claiming that no such decision had been made.
This document suggest that the Bush administration was determined to “fix intelligence” around a predetermined policy.

One Thursday June 16, 2005, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee, and other House members will hold a hearing to consider testimony concerning the Downing Street minutes and questions of possible fixing of prewar intelligence. I do hope you will be giving full coverage to these events.
