Iraqi Resistance Report for events of Monday, 13 June 2005
Translated and/or compiled by Muhammad Abu Nasr, member, editorial board, the Free Arab Voice. ( http://www.freearabvoice.org )

Monday, 13 June 2005.

Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance ambulance bomb blasts US column in al-Qa’im early Monday.

A powerful Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter driving an explosives-packed vehicle blew up next to a US military column west of al-Qa’im on the border with Syria Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 9:59am Mecca time, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Qa’im reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army who did not want to be identified said that an ambulance belonging to the puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of health” approached a US column and turned on its siren as if it were transporting an emergency case. The Americans therefore got out of the way of the ambulance. As the vehicle approached, it veered to the right and into the American column where it blew up.

The correspondent reported that the blast destroyed two armored Humvees and disabled a third, inflicting 11 US casualties – some killed some wounded. Residents of al-Qa’im confirmed that the explosion was very large.

Afterwards, US troops surrounded the whole are and began arresting people, including the manager of the al-Qa’im ambulance service and a number of doctors on the charge that they had a hand in the attack.

1. And I'm supposed to have new-found respect
for a group claiming to have used an ambulance as a suicide bomb?

Sorry, no can do. All it does is make ambulances increasingly legitimate targets, and gets civilians killed. Which might, actually, be a goal.

2. Too bad guerilla warfare can't afford to follow the nice war rules of US..
Everyone should use the most advanced high-altitude bombers to bludgeon their subjects into submissal...

No matter how hard you try, you can't justify a bomb in an ambulance or a suicide bomber in a crowd of pensioners and claim to be a moral person.

8. The problem is, when you dispose of the nice rules,
you don't have any nice rules left to dispose of.

Complaints about collateral damage have grown faint, largely, I think, because the jihadis and resistance don't seem to have a problem with killing civilians, and even try to justify it.

5. The Iraqi Resistance Report certainly has a different point of view.
I don't agree with their editorial comments. It's just another possible source of information that I'm posting, from which some things not covered elsewhere might be found.

3. What the hell?
FAV is a notorious hate site, and rooting for the people killing our troops is disgusting.

4. suicide ambulance
Using an ambulance to deliver a bomb is a crime, period.

Here's another "triumph" for the resistance, hope you're impressed.

6. It's too bad I understand politics and war enough to understand
That all violent acts committed in a country are not committed by the same group. There are probably hundreds of groups fighting the occupation -- all for different reasons and with different tactics.
