We need to get serious about the computerized voting issue..the fix is in.
All will be lost in 04 if we do not demand the changes we need to ensure fairness....the repubs WILL try to fix this election if we are to vote into a computerized void with no paper reciepts..In my view this is the most serious issue facing us and we need to start calling, writing, emailing our represenatives enmass.....I Was in Palm Beach County during the last election and I'm here to tell you they are laughing now because the bastards know the fix is in..I have a very very bad feeling about this....

1. So what do we do if BBV is still in?

I say Vote Absentee! Start a national movement to vote absentee, inform the public of the dangers of BBV. Maybe even some demonstrations..ect..ect. I think absentee voting is one way to fight it. What if all those concerned about BBV decided just to skip the polls, and a huge flood of those absentee ballots roll in? I imagine that will at least big the problem to front. Perhaps that’s the only way for the people to get their voice across if the powers that be only marginalize us.

2. Few Outside of DU Seem To Care
I think you are right.

I have brought this to the attention of others and few seem to care.

Without pressure from the media, I think the battle is lost.

To all those that have done heroic work here at DU and elsewhere, your contributions are legion.

We appreciate all that has been done.

7. I rant about this constantly
to anyone who will listen (and those who won't), most think I'm a conspiracy nut. Something like this couldn't possibly happen in America, WAKE UP!

3. I don't know why our Democratic candidates aren't demanding a
paper verification.....isn't this important to them?

I really can't see how we can lose in a fair election, but given media/polling biases, the voter "cleansing" actions, and unaccountable poll results, this all spells trouble for democracy.

5. Welcome to DU sventvg.
This problem is NOT being ignored. It appears you may be new to DU.
Bev Harris has been working tirelessly on this problem and her work is beginning to bear fruit.

6. Amen to that.
I've a place ion my favorites saved for "vote fruad issues", and I've saved many of the threads...interesting how it went from a release date of July 4th to a complete and collective revolution.
