Why did the Baghdad webcams all suddenly go offline in April?
Reuters, MSNBC, CNN, the BBC, and CBS all just pulled the plugs on their Palestine Hotel webcams. Was there a directive from the bushistas? Are we not supposed to see what this glorious liberation of the Iraqi people looks like?

Are there any webcams still running in Baghdad or anywhere else in Iraq?

1. I assumed
it was because of the shooting of a journalist at the hotel. That went out to the world.

I would dearly love to see Baghdad webcam again.

Don't know of one tho.

2. Because if webcams are present they can't lie about the reality.
Why do you think they're now ousting Al Jazeera? Everything's just peachy!?!

3. If he's hiding something...
...it's likely because there's something to hide...

Yup, what ARE they hiding? Why the rosy blatant lies?

4. A very good question
There are a couple more that I'd like to add to the pot.

1. WTF was up with that "pause" in the drive to Baghdad? If you paid any attention to the news reports from outside Imperial Amerika, there certainly was a halt in the drive. Then, somebody from the Regime gets on TV and says "no pause."

2. Why were the retired military officers suddenly pulled from the network "news" shows? You remember them; they were there as analysts of the tactics and strategy involved in the attack. They were a staple of every show during the early days of the "war," then they simply disappeared. It was as if someone called up the nets and told them to knock it off.

Hmmmm. Ain't there a Skynyrd song about stuff like this?

:freak:

7. Thank you!
Such fascinating reports. Why, it was almost like reading the news! How long has it been since we could do that in Murka?

PS: How ironic is it that those Godless, Commie Rooskies are in the position of transmitting information to the brainwashed population of the USA?

6. Prior to the war, they cut the optical backbone into Baghdad.
Can't have information getting out to the world community that isn't controlled by these anti-democratic faschists....
