WILSON is the WHISTLE-BLOWER
Edited on Wed Jul-06-05 10:53 PM by Stephanie

"Rove" is the retaliator - abusing his power in an attempt to intimidate a witness.*

*assuming it was "Rove," of course.

3. That's putting it clearly!
Unfortunately, the press didn't protect the whistle blower, but now they want to protect the retaliator.

As Wilson put it, Judith Miller is collateral damage, just like his wife.

source that deserves to be protected. She is covering up the name of someone who intentionally wanted the name of a covert CIA agent to be released in order to retaliate against someone who crossed his honey-boy, George W. Bush!!! It was intentional, it was Evil, and she was complicit, and as long as she is silent she continues to be complicit.

15. thanks for the links
I'm baffled that Rove is getting away with spinning himself as a "source" - which then gets conflated with "whistle-blowers" in discussion of this issue. As David Zephyr points out in another thread, Rove attempted to PLANT a story in the press.

13. One doesn't have to be innocent to be collateral damage
And Miller isn't innocent. She is complicit. She is an accomplice after the fact.

Plame was innocent.

Miller is more likely to still have her job once this is all over. Plame's job is gone forever.

Their being collateral just points back to the real story here. Bush lied about Iraq seeking Yellow Cake from Niger. He knew it was a lie but used it anyway to beat the drums of war. Wilson exposed his lie. The rest is collateral from BushCo's shot at Wilson.

4. Love the pic. Who looks more credible? Duh...
Rover looks like the Pillsbury Doughboy and a raving lunatic.

Wilson - cool, calm, collected.

8. Whistle-blowers are not to blame.
Without whistle-blowers, we wouldn't have the collapse of Enron and Arthur Andersen. Rove the Retaliator will have to answer sooner or later. Let's hope it's the former.

11. How RIGHT you are. A whistleblower is defined as someone who
exposes the wrongdoing or corruption and is punished for it.

So why isn't the NYT protecting him?
