A funny thing happened on my way to the post office today
By chance I bumped into my member of congress in the parking lot. Coincidentally, I was planning to email her today and urge her to support Congresswoman Barbara Lee's Resolution of Inquiry (H. Res. 375) ... you know, the one that seeks to investigate the Downing Street Memos and whether the cabal in power fixed the intelligence.

She told me she hadn't heard about it. I was kind of shocked at this because she has been a very courageous and outspoken critic of little boots. She patiently listened while I filled her in on the details of the resolution. I ended by saying that I wanted to see the bastards impeached. Her response was "oh, me too!"

The reason I'm posting this is to encourage you to write to your member of congress. Please don't take it for granted that he or she knows that Congresswoman Lee is actively trying to recruit other co-signers for the resolution while they are in recess. Take a moment and go to http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/902 or http://www.house.gov and urge your congressman or congresswoman to support this.

Who knows? Your voice just might be the one that makes the difference.

4. I thought mine would be
I thought it was an oversight that she wasn't. I couldn't believe she hadn't heard about it.

8. This isn't the first time a congressman/woman has said they
never heard of something as important as this. When the members of Congress were questioning the guys from the CIA (or was it the FBI), and one held up a letter they had signed and sent to Bush, the members of Congress were so surprised and said they had not heard of nor read the letter. GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK. According to members of Congress they don't know the important things that are going on, and they don't read the bills they are signing. Why don't they just spend one hour a day on DU and they'll know all they need to know about their own damn job - sorry, but I find them disgusting to say the least. Most imcompetent bunch of people I have ever seen. End of rant.

9. Amazing, isn't it? That was the purpose of my original post, to encourage
others to take a moment to send an email or make a phone call.

Please don't take it for granted that they know what is going on.

You'd be surprised. I sure was.

11. I gotta work to get mine to resign first (Cunningham) and hopefully
after a special election we can send off someone like Busby that will do that and more to help the Dems! Somehow I don't think calling Duke Cunningham for help would be a very useful exercise...
