The Freepers Say: NO MORE CITGO GAS FOR US!
Why? Citgo benefits one of BushCo's assasination targets, Mr. Chavez to be exact. Bush and Pat Robertson would definitely not approve.

Here's a Citgo locator so we can all follow the Freeper's logic (in reverse, of course.)

I'm sure they think Saudi Arabia is paradise on earth, but I'd rather support Venezuela myself! I found out there are two 7-11 stores by me that pump Citgo, that's where I'm headed next time!

I'm guessing that most Freepers and conservatives in general are way, way too concerned about their wallets and driven by their stinginess to allow their moral principles to interfere with getting a good bargain.

45. My Citgo station always charges 1 or 2 cents more per gallon.
Besides, the gas station I use, 8 miles from home, almost ALWAYS has prices 10-15 cents lower than everyone else. :9

Not that I am saying all Citgos charge more; the only one I've seen charges more.

14. I remember gas wars!
I know I'm telling my age here but, when I was a kid, I remember the gas stations would have gas wars. At that time gas was very cheap. I think the lowest price I can remember was about 20¢ per gallon.

I would love to see those days again but I doubt we ever will.

be going out of their way. Freeps are full of shit always talking big.

They're among the last to sign up for Bush's war yet they claim to "support the troops".

11. That's True, BUT....I Didn't Even Know I Had This Choice!
Thanks freeps!! I'll feel a WHOLE lot better buying gas at the 7-11. I HATE buying gas -- I always feel like it makes Bush and the Saudis smirk that I have to buy it. I've REALLY cut back though. My kids know that if we don't have a half tank left by Saturday, no beach! So they don't grumble too much about walking & subway-ing more.

12. Are all 7-11s Citgo? I'm asking because...
...when I was at the gas station up the street (BP)
a few hours ago, the lady in line ahead of me
asked the cashier if there were any 7-11s in this area.

I had been wondering why she was asking;
this might explain it.

I was searching for an answer to your question and came upon a very pathetic little message board which seemed to consist of three rabidly anti-Castro Cuban-Americans livid that people go to "Citgo and 7-11"

Absolutely lovely folks over there and check this post out:

"And Citgo, indiofutumayochavez, and boladechurrefidel can kiss my buttocks right after I take a royal, avocado, black bean soup and tuna fish salad dump. You too Lula!"

39. Fun fact about 7-11
7-Eleven used to be owned by Unocal, which explained why Union 76 was on tap at all 7-Eleven stores. Now that Unocal no longer makes gasoline, they no longer sell it, hence no longer need a chain of convenience stores.

The man responsible for the gasoline business at 7-Eleven was hired from Citgo, where he was responsible for the gasoline business. I don't think they're owned by Citgo, but probably buy all their gas from them.

33. Be A Far-Left Radical Freak -- Conserve Gas!
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 11:18 AM by K8-EEE
My Citgo across town also, however it's by my daughter's horseback riding so since I fill up once a week (I'm really rationing the gas these days!) I'm just going to make Tuesday gas day. I used to routinely fill up twice a week but just a few changes (carpooling especially!) cut it in half.

One thing I've been doing to conserve gas is make one HUGE shopping trip at Costco every week and walk to the little indie produce store a few blocks from my house every day. Yes you will see me every morning with my little black wire cart thingee, it feels so old lady-ish but I like doing it this way because it forces me to plan dinner in the way a.m. -- and a little more exercise and a little less gas is always a good thing, I'm sure the freepers would disapprove!

41. Gotta find another Citgo
The Citgo station nearest me is run by a total Freeper whackjob who is always the first to raise gas prices at his two stations around here. He jacked the price of gas up to $4.00 a gallon on 9/11, and a whole lot of people around here haven't forgiven him yet. His gas is always 10-15 cents higher than everyone else, but he has the prime highway locations, so stupid people buy there.

Dude's seriously disturbed. Mommy bought him two gas stations ten years ago to give him something to do. I've seen him standing in the bank barefoot and filthy yelling at the bank manager. Lots of BC04 stickers at his store, anti-arab propaganda. Seriously creepy.

I'm on the road for work and will occasionally use others EXCEPT ExxonMobil which are thew most common in CT. I haven't bought more than $5 from them in the last year...running on empty, but I won't put more than enough in than will get me to another station. Their campaign to use psuedo science to refute global warming is one reason I will not buy from them.
