who writes for Popular Mechanics will write a nice story all about how the levee break was inevitable, regardless of whether the funds to repair it had been cancelled, or not.... :rant:

5. This is the biggest lie out there.
We knew what was going to happen YEARS ago if a powerful storm hit NO. When we saw it hit catagory 5 we were all worried about the reality of it happening. YES, we knew what would happen. We read the reports, we examined the data. It could have been worse, for goodness sake!

You did NOT have a double disaster here. We knew the city would flood if it got hit hard, and that the wind would be the least of our worries. If the governmental authorities didn't know that, they are completely incompetant.

Something tells me they just don't care, though. :mad:
