The most profound thought: What if this was a Terrorist attack??
I was watching Lou Dobbs and some woman was on there talking about how ill prepared we are for this stuff despite a $41billion dollar budget with homeland security.

Then she gave the most profound question - what if New Orleans (or anywhere) was attacked like this by terrorists?

We are so unprepared. Our National Guard is all overseas and we have no way of providing prompt response for any serious attack on our country (or major national disastor)

1. We are less prepared and have been for some time.
The color code levels were the first sign for me that we were weakening.

3. I've been screaming that exact same thing for three days now
And I wrote emails to my Senators and asked that samed question. I asked the same question to them when I called them today. This is one of the many questions we demand be answered.

5. Terrorist Attack?
I have been thinking more in line of the great California earthquake. That sure as hell would do it. This was sent to me some time ago - a Koran scholar has predicted an undersea earthquake in the Northwest Pacific ocean that will create a tsunami which will wipe out the coast of California. WOW -I need a good dose of happy juice!!!

8. No, if it were a terrorist attack, Bush would care. He'd pull out all the
stops. Terror can happen anywhere. He's have let them use Air Force One to fly people out. A terrorist attack fits with his agenda. That's why he let the first one happen.

9. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard
for terrorists to blow up a levy. At least according to the RW spin machine they are capable of all kinds of mayhem.

This has pretty much proved to me how incompetant the Feds are in disaster. Osama bin Ladin must be laughing his ass off now.

12. That's been on my mind from the start of this thing
From the moment it became apparent that there was NO federal response - this hurricane was tracked for weeks, it was known to be heading for New Orleans. Terrorist attacks tend to be a complete surprise.

And we've been told ad nauseum that a major attack is inevitable. We've also been told that ol' Georgie Boy has made us safer.

Who feels safer? Show of hands?

No, me neither.
