I didn't get to see it live. Instead, tonight, they showed a tidbit of it on the news and I have to tell you that what I saw made me throw my arms up in the air and start screaming at the TV. My partner, Paul, laughed and said, "I don't think he can hear you."

What did Bush say?

About a quarter of the deficit is due to the fact that we are at war. And when we ask our young men and women to be in harms way while defending our liberty they deserve the best pay, the best equipment and the best training.

I have NO problems with what he said. I do, however, have a problem with the LIE that we are giving our troops the BEST pay or the BEST equipment.

And these SHEEP applauded him. I couldn't believe it.

His big thing was how he wanted to make them permanent and today there was a report that we added 57,000 new jobs and this is the first time this has happened in the first 7 months.

Hangovers are such a bitch. You are up late (11pm) drinking, and then they come wake you up at 10am, and tell you that you have to talk to a bunch of your supporters. All of these people paid $2000 to see you and will applaud whatever you say. But it gets worse, because that applause is going to hurt your dehydrated head like crazy. And it gets even worse. They want you to speak, but not about baseball. They want you to speak about the economy, something you don't have the slightest damn clue about (despite your Harvard MBA).

4. Cut combat pay, decimate vets, deny soldiers enough water(no adequate

canteens--like they didn't know they were going into a desert in the summer?,) no advanced vests that will stop an AK-47 for about half the army,Hummers with no protection instead of APC's (someone musta gotten a lot of kickbacks for that one,)extending tours of duty capriciously and soldiers finding out about it from their families at home,no hot meals because all the cooks are fired and it's turned over to contractors....he LUV'S those soldiers.

11. Pretty pathetic coming from a guy who was so eager to cut their VA

benefits, their combat pay, their familiy separation differential, and other stuff. Hell, here in West L.A., they're even talking about a VA LAND GRAB!!!! They want to take 300 and some-odd acres of VA property, where there's housing and hospitalization and a beautiful old landmark-type church, and turn it into this mega mall! ICK!

He wants to give them the best pay. Right. Once you've gotten rid of all the jobs here, george, the military is the only place left for some young people without many other alternatives to earn some money. AND, what a bonus - they can die for your lies. They can give their lives so you and your pirate cronies can gain in your bank accounts. Such a deal.
