What do you think of this idea?
I'm going to the 24 September protest in Washington. I need supplies for signs. So I figured I would write a conservative group (or maybe the RNC) a letter along the lines of the following:

"Hi, I'm Paul Fusco-Gessick, I'm the president (vice-president, action coordinator, something) of the Ithaca College Conservative Coalition. My group is sending a delegation to counter-protest on 24 September in Washington, but we have very little money for materials, owing to the fact that the College does not fund political groups. Would you be willing to send us some posters or flyers with the President's picture on them?"

yadda yadda yadda. Of course if I actually get the Bush flyers, I'm either going to deface them, use them on a sign that says "MURDERER" or something to that effect, or simply light a couple on fire.

I'm banking on the conservatives' stupidity to not Google my name and find my blog, which practically screams out "LIBERAL!"

Whaddya think? Good idea? Terrible idea? Got a better idea?

2. Is this fraud?
Then don't do it.

Conservatives may by and large be rat bastards, but you don't have to be.

You can fight plenty hard while fighting clean.

5. Um...
It's deception, surely. Fraud? Ehhh, it's not that great ethically, but legally, I don't think it constitutes a crime. I'm no legal scholar though.

4. Make a website
that's what I'd do. get a domain name, make a website, have the email, etc. Make a 1 page site or something that says coming soon, yadda yadda. Refer to the site in the letter. If they see that they'll probably think you're valid. Gotta be quick though.

7. Go bombers!
No, not the ones in Iraq. I'm an IC grad - class of '95.

If you say you're from IC, no one's going to buy that you're NOT a liberal! ;) Say you're from Cornell.

8. ITH-ACA! Ithaca's gonna rock today! hey hey, ho ho, yeahhh you know!
You'd be surprised. IC Republicans (actual group) actually outnumber CU Republicans, and we have a third of their numbers.

Which school? Were you a Parkie?

Ouch - I forgot about the IC Republicans. I do remember that some groups tried to organize a sleep-out on the quad to raise awareness for the homeless. Then cancelled it because it was too cold. *True story*.

Are you in school now? I did a planned studies major in Audio Post. Now doing sound editing for Universal. If you're coming out to LA to work, you'll have no problem at all. Lots of IC people here, and we look out for each other. Not to mention that the school is great - IC does well with grads getting jobs because they are so well trained.
