About that CBS News story, re: FEMA's misuse of firefighters

Bob Schieffer couldn't contain his digust. He was clearly and utterly disgusted.

I know we here have said it time and time again, only to be disappointed.

However, fellow DUers, I really believe we have truly turned the corner.

1. Schieffer is one of the good guys
His biography is outstanding and I highly recommend it. I read it this summer and I have been rooting for him to replace Dan Rather ever since.

12. His brother was appointed by bush as ambassador to Australia.
He was pretty easy on the shrub for way too long. Made me cringe as I had always had respect for Schieffer. Maybe he will come back to the light?

3. I do too Catwoman
They have found their voice again and I think they are feeling better about calling an arm an arm than spinning it for this assbackwards admin.

I am so sorry that it took the death of so many people and the death of a city to bring it about though. WE, the PEOPLE will have to make sure that NEITHER are forgotten!

Grievously wounded. Although I wouldn't put it past Bush to put a pillow over its face.

4. Sure, Schieffer's disgusted today
But will he still be disgusted come October? Will this administration's love affair with the photo op, with style over substance, with politics over everything else, continue to disgust Bob Schieffer? Will he continue to be skeptical when the administration is trying to put lipstick on a pig and calling it Monique . . . yet again?

Anger and outrage are cheap right now. Will it continue to be all right once the Mighty Republican Wurlitzer gets back from the shop and starts wheezing "Traitor!" at whoever questions Bushy the Great and Powerful?

one of the firefighter's comments about being used as backdrop for a Bush photo-op. He said that was the only thing he has done since his arrival days ago.
