Is there any way to prevent all of these contracts being given, and
yes I mean GIVEN, to Bush cronies? Isn't there a law, somewhere, anywhere, that would stop this? This is rampant abuse of power - they're making themselves richer directly out of the U.S. Treasury!!

1. I so wish we could!
I profess no knowledge of Federal Contract Law, ordinarily I would turn them in to Congressman Waxman. But I know he is way ahead of us on this.

5. How many times have I asked myself THAT question?
It is just incredibly frustrating to see the law flagrantly violated again and again in plain view. Actually, I guess I can't say for sure if there is, in fact, a law or laws to prevent this. But I can't believe that a "no-bid contract" would be permissible under government regulations except in very special and unique circumstances.

In fairness, the NOLA rebuilding money should go in large part to locally based businesses, to help them get back on their feet and rebuild their own communities. But this is just not the way things work in this country.

6. If we didn't have a whore Congress
We might have a snowball's chance in hell. As it is, we have no chance.
