Body Counts Now Cited as Benchmarks

BAGHDAD -- Using enemy body counts as a benchmark, the U.S. military claimed gains against Abu Musab Zarqawi's foreign-led fighters last week even as they mounted their deadliest attacks on Iraq's capital.

6. I wonder what the body count has to total
before we win and can go home? I hate the idea that we have to keep blowing the arms and legs off our kids to justify the deaths of the ones who have died before them. And a life is a life, their kids have moms and dads, brothers and sisters and children....what a scandalous war. Winning their hearts and minds, bringing them democracy, v.s. 'bodycounts'...how quaint.

8. Enemy body counts in Viet Nam were shown on the news every night
It was always something like 300 Viet Cong/North Vietnamese killed, 2 Americans killed and 5 wounded.
