It's dump on Bill Clinton day (again)
by OUR guys: quel surprise! on the Huffington Post: Arianna, Nora Ephron, and more. Mo Jo as usual this week. Then Jon Stewart. Does it ever end? I know it isn't funny that repulsive repukes are destroying this country, not to mention the rest of the universe and dead bodies everywhere won't get much of a chuckle but bush is an endless source of humor, as is laura and babs. I don't remember bush one ever being satirized once Clinton was elected.I would like a one year moratorium on Clinton's private life while we indict these assholes and then, if everyone thinks Clinton is still so hilarious, back to the blue dress again. If it is about him, it is also about us.

1. Oversensitive?
Maybe I'm just missing something, but I interpreted Jon Stewart's reference as a tongue-in-cheek way of making fun of Tom Delay and the obsession he and the Republican party had for Clinton's sex life.

And frankly, I don't want to become like the Republicans who can't take a joke.

6. Over five friggin' years of saying the president is morally
corrupt...."oh for the good old days of blow jobs in the white house". Shut up already. We know he did it. How about not talking about Clinton at all? Bush's shit needs to stand alone.... there is an element of "undoing" bush's evil by always bringing up Clinton's affair. And bush evil isn't even in the same universe. To me it is trivializing what hell bush is bringing us all.

and really corrupt politicians, and stolen elections and....

when you've got harmless sex to talk about.

Don't worry, next week its gays.

4. "We" have to go out of our way to show that we are balanced.
You know, that we can take a joke or even a dead horse, it somehow legitimizes our criticism of the * regime. God forbid that we should express any outrage at the destruction of our country, economy and our Constitution by *. That would make us insurgents in our own country, doncha know.

I guess the real question is who's country is it? That might be answered in a Halliburton quarterly report.

5. Doesn't bother me at all...
I always saw Clinton as a ladies' man and didn't care. That's how I felt when I voted for him. He could've banged every chick from sea to shining sea.

But, when the repukes mention it...I call them on it every single time. I ask them...why are you so obsessed with Clinton's penis? It shuts them up mostly and if they go onto the 'he lied' bit, I tell them they are entirely too hung up on something that happened years ago.

Then I get real condescending. I tell them in a snarky way...you guys won. YOu've got the house, the senate, the courts, the white house and the media. How can you still blame Clinton for your lot in life? I say it all with a smile on my face.

Let whoever say what they want about Clinton's penis. :smoke:

12. How are the democrats doing it?
Jon Stewart does fake news. Why should I even begin to take that seriously?

Also, if dems are doing it, I really don't care. I don't understand why I should. Clinton did two very successful terms and the wonderful things he accomplished will never be undone by what he did with Monica. Sure, he's infamous for it, but it's sex and sex sells no matter what side of the aisle it's on.

If a dem was to say to me how horrible it was for Clinton to get a blowjob in the oval office, I'd say 'so what'. I say it to repukes all the time.

I say scream it to the heavens. Clinton got a blowjob and nobody died.

17. go to Huffington post and see
www.huffingtonpost.com
the title of Arianna's post today is " If this is what White House Integrity looks like, let's bring back Oval Office blow jobs". It is everywhere, not just Jon.

19. It's a comparison of one set of values against the other...
which is the worst? The vast corruption we are seeing now or a blow job in the oval office?

It doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I like using it as an example to compare to the corruption that's so prevalent. It really puts the whole thing in perspective, IMO.

14. Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but I kind of took it as a
smackdown on DeLay. After all, he was the one who was so rabid about getting Clinton impeached, and acted like a blow job was somehow going to be the ruin of civilization as we know it. DeLay was so over the top about getting Clinton, and Bill rightly pointed out that it was a politically motivated attack, now the bugwhacker is singing the same tune. I guess I thought Jon was saying "You reap what you sew...fucker".

10. I guess I saw Jon using the blue dress
to explain Delay's "sin" just like Jesus used parables...kind of. Otherwise, the poor freepers wouldn't be titillated to pay attention long enough to understand how Bugman did wrong.

15. Maybe he could use Clinton's hilarious budget surplus
instead. He likes sexual parables.....how about Clinton's large, expansive whatever full of money and life, and shrunken bush's whatever. That is more to the point, so to speak.

16. I deal with it by saying 'so what'.
It's a blowjob and if people still bristle over something that happened so long ago I say the problem is more theirs than anyone else's. Really, let them make fun of it to their heart's content...no matter who it is. The move on. It's old news and Clinton will always be infamous for it. No changing that.

13. Yeah.
That Clinton/Monica joke on the Daily Show was totally out of left field, and honestly made no sense. It was basically just an excuse to make another Clinton joke. I like the Daily Show, but tonight's was really pretty bad.
