Reid Remarks on Culture of Cronyism and Corruption
I applaud Senator Reid’s leadership on this issue, but I have to say I’d just as soon never hear the words “czar” or “war” unless we’re actually talking about czars and wars. I also think it’s time to lead with the Democratic agenda, then criticize their incompetence, then end with our agenda again. So even though I will post Senator Reid’s remarks as given, I’m going to pull the last paragraphs and put them first, because I think it changes the tone of the remarks and actually makes our position stronger.

“Finally, (I would say First) I’d like to remind everyone that Katrina struck on the 29th day of August. Now, it’s the 29th day of September and this Republican-controlled Congress has yet to send a comprehensive relief package to the president’s desk.

“Last Spring, Republicans in the House and Senate moved mountains in the middle-of-the-night to intervene in one Florida family’s tragedy. But today, when thousands of displaced families are sleeping on cots, Republicans are sitting on their hands.

“A stronger America begins at home. Weeks ago, Democrats introduced the “Katrina Relief Plan” which would give families housing, health care, education and financial relief. Even though Republicans refuse to act, we won’t stop fighting to get these families the urgent relief they need.”

Some wingnut suggests massive investigations on everyone... maybe we can get those punk "moderate" Democrats out of office too while we're at it...

10. This is quite astounding
Do people just not get the Alger Hiss reference? We don't question a totally retarded Harry Reid hit piece posted by somebody named AlgerHiss? We say "welcome" to that kind of shit now???

And then wonder why we can't make a charge against Republicans stick or stay in the media?

:banghead:

6. I think Dean, Reid and Pelosi
have beencomparing notes. Howard Dean did say the Shiavo thing would come up in elections, and Reid just fired the first shot across the bow! (referring to Shiavo)

8. I remember that
I do remember Dean saying they'll use it. Why not? It shows where their priorities lie which is really sad. I'm glad they're all working together with Dean. I love it!

7. He and Pelosi are kicking some major ass!
I'm glad. They need to do this. If they aren't going to do anything as they're supposed to do then let our people do it and get out of the way!
Simply disgusting how these republicans are responding about Katrina. Ugh! And here they've been trying to show how they like minority groups? Not very well I'd say. Go Reid!
