When I first read it, I thought it said :do you think his position is responsible. For which I would have answered no.

It actually said reprehensible, for which I answered yes.

I hope that is the case. I find it hard to believe, as well as depressing, to think that approx 1/3 of Americans could even begin to agree with his statement.

The fact that someone associated with this administration and/or the Republican Party in general would dare make such a statement -- tantamount to a call for genocide (and all the more inflammatory after New Orleans) -- is yet another indication of how Bush and the GOP in general are defiantly stripping off the tiptoe-through-the-tulips slippers of "compassionate conservatism" to reveal the fascist jackboot beneath. Bennett's remarks are also more damning evidence the murderous neglectfulness demonstrated by the aftermath of Katrina was deliberate: not "blunders" but policy. Worse still is how these racist pigs are making it increasingly clear the only public opinion they care about is that of their JesuNazi stormtroopers (and of course their own plutocratic overlords) -- a big reason I have such foreboding about whether they will even allow the 2006 and 2008 elections.
