What do you think of this theory...
The BushCo presidency is an ongoing debacle and this wholesale destruction of America for profit exists precisely because it is unchecked power held by the Republicans. Up until the (?)election(?) of Bush in 2000, Democrats held control over at least one branch of the federal government, but as soon as BushCo came in, the Republicans entered an era of unchecked power - so the long-standing Republican agenda was allowed to proceed unchecked. So it is not exactly BushCo that is the real evil, it is the entire Republican agenda which was finally given the green light by putting a Republican into the White House.

2. You're Right Except That 9/11 Was Cheney's And Rove's Idea
If that hadn't happened, your theory would be pretty accurate.

3. If you fixate on party
alliances, you are missing the big picture. The sell out to "special interests" (which is just a fancy way of saying "the sell out to their own vested interests") is happening on both sides of the aisle.

Why do we cling to the leaches that are sucking the life out of the corpse of the American way of life? The Dems are as culpable as the Rethugs. Collectively they have stolen lied and cheated their way into a very elite club which gives them license to do what ever they want and then pretend to be outraged, simply outraged, when they learn about a similar practice by someone not a member of the club.
