He's a very odd looking man. I have a bad feeling that part of his self-laothing and anger are rooted in his own distaste for his own looks. He just looks like the guy who got beat up in high school a lot.

Just that i have a feeling that he has some deep-seeded anxiety over his own appearance and he's taking it out on the rest of the world.

I didn't say i was better. Just more secure. OK, i admit that i'm smarter than Gary Bauer, and more educated. But that's quantitative, not qualitative. Not better or worse, just measurably different.

I couldn't care less that he looks the way he looks, but i have a feeling his world view is predicated on self-loathing and the root of that is his own self-loathing. In that, he's a dangerous little twit who needs to be put in his place.

This has always been the Religious Right's game. They weren't particularly active in politics until the 80s when Reagan promised them the world. He didn't really deliver everything he promised. They backed Newt in '94 and he didn't really deliver. They didn't support W as much in 2000 as Rove expected. So, Rove tried to give them the world. They gave him big support in 2004 as Rove's gamble paid off.

However, they are getting antsy again.

They are the base of the GOP but are NOT reliable voters. They basically operate under a a "take my ball and go home" system. In Texas, there are so many evangelicals, it doesn't matter how many get to the polls.

However, in a state like Ohio, they can make the difference.
