4. It should have started after the 2002 election. I can't believe
the Democrats are suprised about California. What planet are they living on? Maybe this site should be required reading by all Democratic candidates.

13. Whoever is running Dean's campaign
Seriously. If we had them organizing and fundraising for the DNC, we would be doing great.

10. How did McAulliffe ever get his job?
I am concerned that he is supreme ruler for life of the DNC or something. Is there a democratic process which installed him? Is there one which can remove him? I have asked this before (not here) and nobody ever knows.

11. no
I don't think the anti-McAuliffe sentiment is well thought out, so that kind of sentiment is more likely just to cause division.

It seems to me the dems are more unified lately than I've ever seen them before. Like at the DNC fall meeting, there was a strong and unified anti-Bush theme. Kerry made a few jabs at fellow dems, but they kind of stood out, the rest of the candidates were on message.

14. McAuliffe thinks everyone is as partisan as he is
This piece says it:

The message isn’t all mixed. Davis’ drubbing once again proved that, on the national stage, Democrats often run awful campaigns. . Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe spent precious party cash and personal prestige to defend what turned out to be an indefensible incumbent. McAuliffe & Co. profoundly misread the voters’ mood.
