Is Russia next on the invasion list?
http://www.themoscowtimes.com/stories/2003/10/09/047.html

We've hit on this issue before at DU.....the Euro....quite possibly the REAL reason for invading Iraq and the attempted coup of Chavez in Venezuela.....Both Saddam Hussein (in 2000) and recently Chavez have threatened to switch from the US Dollar to the Euro as the standard of exchange.

1. Russia and China are part of contingency plans for nuclear
attack. Its part of the plans they have had in
place for about three or four years. They actually
have begun plans for this to happen.

2. There is no fucking way in hell...
...that The Bush Family Oligarchy could deal with The Russian Mafia short of crawling in bed with them let alone The Russ themselves. Them are some hard-ass people. It will take more than a can of Pepsi and a 'happy meal' to lay waste to The Siberian Outback let there be no mistake ~

3. And even if they did crawl in bed with the Russian Mafia..
I doubt they would make it to see the sunrise alive.

4. No. Aside from being nuts from a simply rational point of view
The Busheviks only fight countries that can't hit back.

5. Not a chance. We only attack countries that can't fight back.
And it's been that way for decades.

Venezuela, Iran, Syria... those are countries that might be invaded. But Russia? No way.

7. Yeah, we'd invade Russia
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 09:29 PM by ProudGerman
But only if Bunnypants wanted to see several of our divisions, and any countries where our planes would be based at, pushing up mushrooms, if you catch my drift.

As history proves, invading Russia only leads to one thing, YOU getting slaughtered.

On edit, forgot to add:

To add to what's already been stated, we don't invade countries that already have the bomb. Hence N. Korea, and quite possibly Iran in a few months.

8. Sooner or later we will have run out of enemies, then
we will have to invade the coalition members.

9. Who, other than the German army got slaughtered in Russia?
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 10:27 PM by FDRrocks
I'm not the brightest on Russian military history. I do know they were humiliated in the concessions in the Brevst-Litovsk (I KNOW that is spelled wrong) treaties in WWI, as thier Tsar was completely incompetent in military affairs. (edit: Heh, that treaty made me think of the Trotsky "No War, No Peace" offer, and how he thought they would actually accept it.)

Didn't they have a not too impressive record before that? I know they conquered the Ottomans at least down to the Black Sea, so thats one to thier credit.

Anyhow, they have nukes, I would be militant in my opposition to starting the end of the world.

12. The fact that we could NEVER occupy them and that they's BITE back...
...in ways that we'd never want to deal with.

No.

We only attack defenceless victims, not ones that can hit back...hard.

Beside that...It would be pure madness.
