Don't miss the right-wing sexist rhetoric, re: Miers...
I don't want Miers in SCOTUS and I am deeply offended by the sexist rhetoric that is everwhere in US press:

Hume: Miers “Much Better” Qualified When Not Compared to White Men

BRIT HUME: I think, Chris, that to the extent that the president flinched, he flinched on this point, and that is he decided it had to be a woman and/or a minority, and that narrowed the field....And in that context, she looked much better than she would have against a full field, men and women alike.

Hitting The Media’s Glass Ceiling

MIERS: “She’s not somebody who is a gossip.” (AP, 10/4/05)

MIERS: “She never misses a birthday.” (LA Times, 10/4/05)

MIERS: “She makes a wonderful sweet potato pie. Many marshmallows.” (AP, 10/3/05)

1. There's a LOT of sexism in the Miers debate.
But she's still not qualified.

3. The facts that reveal she is not qualified for SCOTUS
are the only facts that should be up for discussion.

2. Let 'em. They keep trying to convince anyone who
isn't a white, middle or upper class male that they are the party of inclusion. They've changed. This just highlights how clueless they are and that inclusion is a ploy with them. When push comes to shove, they are the same old same old.

5. It isn't just Rethugs who are saying these things --
the Associated Press and Los Angeles Times should not be wasting print on these issues.
