Anyone Watch 60 Minutes Tonight...Freeh.......FBI
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 09:19 PM by rsmith6621

Former FBI Director Freeh was on 60 minutes tonight selling his ne book.....during the interview he said the USA was spineless in its response to the attempt on GWHB life,The USS Cole, and the US Baricks bombing...in effect he said we did little and infact we may have encouraged further attacks including 9/11.....He seemed to blame Clinton.

What are your thoughts in comparison to lil George way of responding.

1. Freeh and his book and his harsh words for Clinton
has been all over the media. What's up with Freeh? Is he a republican?

9. He had harsh words for Bush 41 too.

This says he's a republican>>
<snip> Yes, Freeh---a Republican---never got along with the Clinton White House, outspokenly pushed for independent counsels and investigations of various Clintonites, and bickered with his nominal boss, Attorney General Janet Reno. http://www.bigmagic.com/pages/blackj/column75o8.html

15. I agree -- what a whine fest
He was worse than a whining snotty nosed kid...

What really was his faux pas was lapping up the fact he was investigating Clinton' personal miscues, and at the same time berating Congress for not funding terrorism.

It didn't seem to occur to "that effing Freeh" (as Clinton allegedly referred to him), the FBI spent millions for looking at Clinton's DNA and other non-crimes. That money could have been allocated instead to fighting terrorism and improving the FBI? Sounds rational to me....

3. Freeh has given 20,000 bucks to the Republican party
and he's trying to cover his own tracks because he spent all his time chasing Clinton's penis & his personal life AND NOT INVESTIGATING TERRORISTS OR OTHER REAL THREATS TO THE USA!!!!

Trying to re-write history is what he's doing so he won't look like a crotch-sniffer as head of the FBI, which is exactly what he was.

he didn't give resources to John O'Neill (the fbi agent who died on 9/11) that he needed to go after al qaeda.

fuck lying vile disgusting whore freeh. the whore media has the info on this but with the Chimp's numbers going down they need something to put the blame on someone else.

Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 09:30 PM by On Par
Even though we caught all the people in the 1st WTC bombing. Even though it was the 8 greatest years of economic growth. Even though... oh shit, never mind.

Suffice to say, Is it any wonder we can't win an election.

10. Well, first of all, it *isn't* all Clinton's fault
so how does it have anything do with the Democrats winning elections?

13. I thought I saw in the paper today that CBS agreed to issue a state-
ment about the fact that it did not seek verification of one single statement that Freeh made. They didn't even check his own sources since he was repeated statements from meetings he didn't even attend. Many former Clinton administration officials have jumped on this demanding CBS retract or make a statement.

14. The "attempt" on GHWB probably didn't happen.
At least that is what Seymour Hersh says...and I tend to believe him.

16. He blamed Clinton for tying up the FBI with investigations...
...but never blamed the Republicans for wasting America's time pushing for them. Clinton was perhaps the single most investigated human being in American history, and what came out of it? Nothing. A private peccadillo. That's all. The Republicans wasted millions and millions of dollars, not to mention thousands of man hours on a politically motivated game of "gotcha". And the safety of the American republic suffered for it.

I'm not the biggest fan of Clinton, but hearing Freeh attempt to blame Clinton for all these investigations made me sick.

As for the line that not immediately bombing/invading Saudi Arabia/Iraq/Iran/Syria simultaneously inspired more terrorist attacks, that's a load of crap. Terror attacks skyrocketed to the highest levels ever recorded AFTER we invaded Iraq, not before. And after the 1993 bombings, the Joint Terrorism Task Force apprehended 4 of the 5 inviduals responsible in less than 30 days. They were each sentenced to 240 years in prison. The fifth was apprehended in Pakistan in 1995, and also sentenced to 240 years.

Wouldn't it be great if we could say the same thing about Osama?

17. Well, according to Richard Clarke, Freeh is part of the problem.
In "Against All Enemies" Clarke expresses his frustration with the FBI in both domestic and foreign cases in great detail.
