thank you , H2O man...re: plamegate
Your posts were one of the first few I read after coming here. Way back then, you kept telling us to be patient, that there would be something substantial to come out of it all.
As our rollercoaster hopes would be lifted and dashed with every other LEGITIMATE reason to to hamstring this administration, like downing street memos, and Jeff Gannon/Guckert, and Terri Schiavo, etc., you kept telling us it would be worth the wait.

I think, indeed you may be correct.

thank you (and others, though yours were the posts I read with avarice on this topic)

for keeping us buoyed when all seemed hopeless.

Even if nothing else, happens, I'm thrilled that the Fitzgerald Grand Jury has done even this much.

4. I was thinking
earlier this morning about this: it's been almost two years that I've been on DU. Some associates had suggested I might enjoy it. And after a couple months, there was a thread on the Plame case. I mentioned that the VP's office had exposed Plame not only to discredit Wilson, but to actually derail a specific CIA investigation Valerie was overseeing. The idea caught on, not only on DU, but in many other areas. In fact, that series of DU threads, known as "The Plame Threads," was the first time that theory was put forth publicly. Kind of interesting piece of DU trivia.

7. I asked in another thread if someone could do a summary of Brewster Jennin
Brewster Jennings - I got lost in those huge threads and don't have a grip on that aspect really, except that Brewster Jennings was VP's front company and that her entire network was destroyed by the outtting. Would you consider at some point posting a little Brewster Jennings refresher/summary for us? Thanks H20, for all your great posts!!!

8. I wonder if Fitz is pursuing that angle.
I suspect that blocking an investigation like that might be considered "obstructing justice," even if the investigators involved didn't know in advance that the investigation was leading them to criminal activities by members of the administration. Opinions anybody?

11. I learned about that possibility
from you, and I have never forgotten it. :hi:

Whenever something breaks on Plame, I look for your take on the matter.

I would say that you rule, but my teens tell me that's so 90s. The proper term is now "own."

You own.

A toast to you. :toast:

P.S. I'm headed to the liquor store today to stock up on something special for indictment day (whenever that finally comes). I believe it will have been worth the wait.

I too, want to thank H20 Man and all of you for my education. I was a dummy and crazy before I got here. I am still crazy but I am a lot more informed now! I was also hopping mad when I got here. This place has given me hope, scared the pants off me, made me laugh and made me cry.

DU is a saving GRACE!

18. It's getting closer. This just in over in LBN

Rove redux

As top Bush aide Karl Rove prepares for his fourth grand-jury appearance, the federal probe into who leaked CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity to the media is believed to be wrapping up.

But the investigation has taken a toll on White House aides, many of whom now fear that the special counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, is intent on issuing indictments.

"Fitzgerald's office, although very professional, has been very aggressive in pursuing people," the adviser said. "These guys are bullies, and they threaten you."

<snip>

Meanwhile, lawyers for possible indictment targets are boning up on the Espionage Act, used to charge Daniel Ellsberg, leaker of the Pentagon papers, say people close to the probe.

24. I'll second his "yes"
Even though it's not here yet. Yes, they do still hold up well.

I mentioned this whole set of events to someone at work the other night. They didn't really know what to say, and looked kind of blank and shocked when I was done.

When this hits, people who knew nothing about it will probably be outraged. It really is a shocking story if you haven't been paying attention.

25. Holding up and playing out beautifully.
Sometimes I wonder just how much influence the Plame threads had on events taking place right now. We dug deep and really nailed it.

What's really exciting is how much Wilson had right in his book about Rove being pegged for a squealer. I don't think Wilson used that word, but that's exactly what he said he'd do if it came down to choosing between Dumbya and the rest of his misadministration (Cheney, Libby, etc.) That's exactly what's happening and MSM is waking up to reality.

Isn't it fun to watch? :)

Pointillism is a technique of painting in which a lot of tiny dots are combined to form a picture, and H2O man has painted us a vivid image.

of hope. I particularly remember someone - maybe H2O - saying that the outing of Valerie Plame was just the sort of thing that could strike a significant blow to the neocon regime; because it was something technical, which lawyers could get their teeth into. How right that was! Hasn't it been the prime mover behind Fitzgeralds's investigations?

I want to see BLiar, Aznar, Berlusconi and other EU associates also banged up for this.

On edit: ... and the (apparent, my ass) murderers of Dr. David Kelly.
