Something I wish a leading Dem would say
The sooner the moderates take over the GOP and both parties start acting like grown-ups, the better off we'll be.

This is not time for the country to be having stupid, ideological debates about non-issues like "intelligent design," flag burning, whether gays choose to be gay and if they do choose it, whether that makes it OK to shun them or treat them like scum.

We're getting our clock cleaned in the world marketplace and we're going broke. We need to wake up -- and grow up -- soon.

1. Too true.

It's like we're having esoteric arguments over how many angels can sit on the head of a pin, while the whole house burns down around us.

You would think that Katrina would have woken people up a little bit that there's stuff in the real world to worry about.

4. Hey Crunchy Frog, you made an excellent observation disguised
as a typo--Angels sitting on the head of a PIT, while the whole house BURNS down around us! Intentional? Whether it was or not, it was profound.
PITS OF HELL

6. Thanks for pointing out the typo.
Sometimes I spell like a freeper out of absent mindedness. And here I put it through Spellcheck and everything.

7. Sometimes inadvertent typos are good.
They may be a subconscious way of getting to the heart of things.

2. It is time to get our priorities straight alright.

Fix the voting machines to produce a paper record and get the hell out of Iraq. There are two wrongs that should have never happened, but shouldn't the obviousness be overwhelming by now?
