Rightwinger Writes Angry "Dear George" Letter

My ‘Dear George’ letter

By Michael Graham

<snip>

Sorry, George, but you lost me at Harriet.

When a reporter asked you Tuesday if Harriet Miers was the most qualified candidate for the Supreme Court and you answered, "Yes…I picked the best person I could find" —and you did it with a straight face — that was it.

I'm done. Check, please. I'm outta here.

I am no longer a George W. Bush supporter. As a conservative, I have been b**ch-slapped by this man for the last time. Those suffering from "Battered Conservative Syndrome" will no doubt make excuses and find some reason to stay with this serial abuser of our principles, but not me. I have had enough.

1. Well, at least the guy finally opened his eyes.

"I've told myself, "Stick with George, because he gets the big ones right." "

What big ones, I wonder? Like the invasion of Iraq? Give me a break!!

"but in your heart, you are... A spoiled, rich-kid president's son who has spent your life doing what you wanted whenever you wanted and making sure everyone else knows it..."

He woke up and smelled the scheiss, finally.

5. I don't know
Certainly it's gratifying to see the base annoyed with Bush, but the main reason that they are made at him is that he isn't crazily conservative for them.

So sort of a lateral move, in my opinion.

3. What, the images of NO didn't bother this person but Harriet Miers does?
Don't get me wrong but you have:
* a war based on lies which is the biggest military disaster in the history of the nation,
*proliferation of terrorism due to the policies of this administration
*Katrina disaster response
*hugest deficit in nation's history
*destroying 50+ years of diplomatic efforts
*largest political division since the civil war,
*huge increases in poverty, school drops-out rate, loss of jobs
etc
and the nomination of Harriet Miers causes this individual to abandon ship?

11. Miers isn't far right ENOUGH for this guy
Everything you mentioned espouses liberal values (or at least the concern for them).

I wouldn't jump for joy over these kinds of wingnuts bailing on *--they're STILL the enemy (because they'll be back voting for Republicans if a suitable fundie alternative doesn't materialize)

When you look back at all the failure, incompetence and corruption of the past 5 1/2 years and Harriet Miers is the straw that breaks the camels back.
:wtf: :silly:  :eyes:

Oh boy, when that deficit comes to its inevitable impasse there will be gnashing of teeth.

4. Hell hath no fury...
Harriet Miers, "The best possible nominee?" That's like saying "George W. Bush, the best possible Republican president."

What a joke.

Go for it, Bunnypants!

8. stupidity knows no bounds in this group
after all the asinine things bush has done, harriet seems rather benign to me. they have plenty of issues to get their feathers ruffled over. this just seems stupid. but then, i don't have their perspective.

12. Reminds me of
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 08:43 AM by GrpCaptMandrake
Adam's-Apple-Annie Coulter on Bill Maher this past Friday. "Of course Harriet Miers will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. We know that. But there's more to the conservative agenda than just Roe. She's incompetent."

I think I've actually found even MORE to hate in a Repiglican during the Miers mess than there was before.

Gotta admit, though: watching the squirming is proving profoundly enjoyable, if even it's all "wrasslin" and Brer Rabbit stuff.

13. Too funny
another middle-class millionaire who thinks Bush* isn't conservative enough--unless he's cutting taxes for the rich or stopping "those" people.

Einstein was right, "the only things without limit are the universe and human stupidity--and I'm not sure about the universe."
