I have a vast collection of historic radio broadcasts including many featuring Edward R. Murrow. In the past I have made these available on these forums. Given the inevitable interest in Murrow due to George Clooney's movie I thought that I would post a few of them on my server for download by DUers. These are of variable audio quality, but will give everybody a good idea of why Murrow was such a great newsman.
Why, oh why are there not reporters like him now? We need a Murrow or two now. I think that's what George Clooney is trying to say. These examples show Murrow at his best, when he personified the news by telling stories and not just spewing facts.
Here are three examples of why Murrow was so great.
