We're an empire now....
A Bush staffer, some time ago:

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality, judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors, and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

Well Mr. Hubristic, Deludinoid, Tard - why don't you create some reality that doesn't make this administration look like the biggest failures in the history of the country?

Guess that's because none of you can find your own ass with both hands. But hey, I hear a certain Mr. Fitzgerald has found a lot. I think a lot of "history's actors" are near the end of Act IV.

1. Penitentiaries are full of deluded psychopaths who tried to create
their own little "empires".

3. I hope you are right, but have this gnawing feeling
that while we are excited about exposing crimes they committed two years ago, they are running full steam with lots of new crimes that we don't even know yet to look for. Our only clues being that now we are learning their unimaginable methods.

7. Bingo. I wonder how long it will take to assess the total damage?
And all their crimes. I will make a bet that it is going
to much worse, and much more extensive than any one ever
dreamed.

5. I Think Our Potential TO BE an Empire Vanished With BushCo
unless you wanted an empire of crime. That is still within the reach of the US. We can be another, better Nigeria.

NUKE'm :nuke:

"It is my opinion that the use of this barbarous weapon at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender because of the effective sea blockade and the successful bombing with conventional weapons." (William D. Leahy, I Was There, pg. 441).

..

"in being the first to use it, we had adopted an ethical standard common to the barbarians of the Dark Ages" (William D. Leahy, I Was There, pg. 441).

Admiral Leahy was the Chief of Staff to Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman and the unofficial coordinator of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

And on Aug. 8, 1945 he wrote in his diary:

"there is a certainty that it will in the future be developed by potential enemies and that it will probably be used against us."
