Poll: Americans Favor Bush's Impeachment If He Lied about Iraq
Stunning New Poll: Americans Favor Bush's Impeachment If He Lied about Iraq

By a margin of 50% to 44%, Americans want Congress to consider impeaching President Bush if (like there's any doubt!) he lied about the war in Iraq, according to a new poll commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org and conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs, the highly-regarded non-partisan polling company.

4. Assume that not everyone is as convinced as us for a moment.
The indictments will likely establish this in the minds of the undecided.

2. the bushies are so schizophrenic that they'll poll this way . . . .
but most of them would re-elect dubya the demigod (if they could) after some soothing words and a few amens. but the poll is wonderful news.

5. consider this
I was having this conversation last night. Most people do not forgive easily once they finally realize they have been lied to and deceived.
Once trust is broken it is very difficult to restore it.

My mother for example stuck by Nixon almost to the bitter end.
Once it was finally proved to her beyond a shadow of doubt that he lied, she turned on him with a vengeance. What upset her in particular was that he let his own daughter go out and lie for him.

50% of Americans agree with Viggo : Impeach Bush
by Liza Sabater

Well Mr. Mortensen, you have more people agreeing with you than what you probably thought.

Back in June, Zogby asked the "I" question; most specifically, in relation to the war in Iraq. In that poll, 42% of the respondents declared they'd want to hold GWB accountable for lying about the reasons to go into war with Iraq. Democrats.com, AfterDowningStreet.com and a number of other prominent bloggers asked Zogby to run another poll in the wake of Bush's ghastly approval ratings, especially after Katrina. Zogby declined.

So they blogs raised the money and paid Ipsos Public Affairs to conduct the survey. Some of their findings?

* Solid majorities of those under age 55 (54%), as well as those with household incomes below $50,000 (57%), support impeachment.

* Majorities favored impeachment in the Northeast (53%), West (51%), and even the South (50%).
