So, what's the minimum number of states...
a presidential candidate needs to win in order to recieve a majority of the electoral college votes?

I know the answer, I just want to see how many people here know. ;)

P.S. No googling/wikipediaing, either. :P

5. Yes; 11.
Although the odds of it happening are almost non-existent, thanks to CA almost always going Democrat and TX almost always going Repub.

Still fun to think about, though.

6. things change. but that's not the hard part.
the hard part is not ca and tx agreeing. the hard part is, say, tx and ok disagreeing or ma and ny disagreeing.

I think I could name them too...

NY, FL, CA, TX, IL, OH, PA, MI, NJ, GA, NC...I think they are the states with the highest electoral votes
