VIDEO-SEN. BOXER on The Daily Show - Senate shut-down is one topic
Before getting to the Boxer/TDS video, check out videos related to the Senate shut-down yesterday in this thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5235511
thread list (11/1/05): **VIDEO CLIPS on Senate CLOSED SESSION and the PHASE II INVESTIGATION**

And now on to Senator Boxer's discussion with Jon Stewart and a very supportive audience. It's from the wonderful Can-o-fun A/V archive site, the home page of which is here:
http://www.canofun.com/blog/default.asp

Sen. Boxer wears a killer red power outfit and knocks them all out with poise, pizazz and humor. She's pushing her new novel - about a Senate battle over a Supreme Court nominee - fiction, she assures us. And she talks about the Senate shutdown, the Iraq War, and the Alito confirmation and gets in some major zingers at the expense of the Rethugs and even, in a polite and indirect way, against the Dems who voted for the Iraq war. Watch and keep your own score.

There's also a DU thread with a sort of liveblog of the Boxer appearance on The Daily Show here:

thread title {11/1): Barb Boxer on Daily Show NOW!!
The popcorn was definitely being passed. Since I don't have cable, the Can-o-Fun video clip above is my only way to see it.

3. Barbara is an incredibly impressive lady. She's just beautiful.
California is very lucky to have her as a representative. Heck, I feel she represents me, too!!! :bounce:

4. She DOES represent us too - I agree. And so do Reps. Conyers, Kucinich
and some others who have risen to this desperate occasion. These are people of integrity, courage, insight and passion and we would be lost indeed without them.

I may get flamed for saying so, but although John Kerry is my own state's senator, I feel far more represented by Sen Boxer than by him.
