Question for DU Scholars---------
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 12:21 AM by carolinalady
I am no good at saving stuff (any stuff), so I wonder. All the articles I have seen on here, there are alot of people who have valuable info and should be interviewed by the intelligence committee. Has anyone thought of compiling a list and sending it to our Dem members in hopes they may be called to testify?

2. Unfortunately, it's as I tell people about college degrees. . .
Not everyone with a college degree is educated, and some without a degree have far more knowledge than most of those who do have one, but unless you're a published author or attain some other form of societally recognized authority, you'll have a harder time convincing people of your education without a sheepskin than with one.

So though there are ample numbers of people on this board adequately prepared to elucidate on any of a number of current topics, convincing society as a whole of their value becomes a question for debate. Put politely, there are quite a number of people on this board who are far more educated and knowledgeable than Dr. Condoleeza Rice (and some of those DUers have at best a formal high school education), but regretably Dr. Rice has the degrees and the formal position to command the attention of the intelligence committee -- warranted or (as in her case) not.

I wish the committee would listen to more citizens. I wish Congress as a whole would listen to more citizens. But in the climate of the times I don't see it happening soon.
