Zogby: Americans support consideration of impeachment
new poll by Zogby International has found that a majority of Americans support Congress considering the impeachment of President Bush if he “did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq,” RAW STORY has learned.

The poll, to be released this afternoon, finds that 51 percent of Americans want Congress to eye impeachment, while 45 percent oppose. It was commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a coalition of progressive groups seeking a Congressional investigation of the events leading up to war in Iraq.

Zogby's poll, which has a +/- 2.9% margin of error, interviewed 1,200 U.S. adults from Oct. 29 through Nov. 2.

Not surprisingly, Democrats supported the consideration of impeachment by a broad margin (76 percent) while Republicans opposed (66 percent). However, 29 percent of Republicans told Zogby pollsters that they supported Congress examining impeachment over Iraq.

12. A couple of things...
They could be Zell Miller Dixiecrats
They could be Republicans claiming to be Democrats.

I take the Zogby poll (I wasn't included in this survey, unfortunately) and it is possible to skew the results by lying. I could very easily claim to be an Evangelical Christian who goes to church everyday and hates the president. If I could get a couple dozen other pollsters to do the same, you'd start hearing reports that Bush is losing support amongst the 700 Club crowd...

Commissioning their own polls is a stroke of genius. I'm going to donate to them.

AfterDowningStreet.org has also set up a political action committee, ImpeachPAC, to support Democrats who say they will seek impeachment.

9. I think
Bush is going to need a Valium before this weekend is over!

What with impeachment poll numbers, on top of "protesters call him 'fascist'" in Argentina.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americas/11/04/bush.summit/index.html

My favorite line in the article is:
"Argentine soccer great Diego Maradona helped lead one demonstration, wearing a T-shirt accusing Bush of war crimes." Even their celebrities are getting involved.

I think I am taking to much joy in this day!
