Fundythink
Our "good news", collaspsing poll numbers, does not translate into "bad news" for fundies. Fundies know that Satan inhabits all non-fundies, and therefore make up a majority of humans. They understand that unpopularity is necessary and expected while they are at war with the enemy. It reassures them that they are righteous and moral and part of the select few who will please Jesus and deserve their place beside him.

Isn't brain deprogramming interesting?

1. Plus they get off on feeling persecuted
They always have to see themselves as being oppressed by something, someone, somewhere.

2. That is the key. The Bible says that Christians will be persecuted for
their faith, so people who have been anything BUT persecuted (elected into office, made millions, are on TV, etc.) HAVE to convince themselves that they are being persecuted; it's the only way they can justify their power and wealth and greed and stupidity.
