Just "EVIL" thoughts here: Daschle "Rehab" to trash Harry Reid, & Tweety
Rehab is to SAVE GE/Russert's ASS because Russert allowed the Bushies to DOMINATE HIS SHOW FOR HOURS AND HOURS ON SUNDAY'S ...leading up to the Iraq Invasion.

So...Tweety does his "Mea Culpa" but it's all about how RUSSERT was THE ONE who allowed "Administration Officials" to come on weekend after weekend with stories about "Drones delivering Nukes to US, Mushroom Clouds, Weapons Bio and Chemical just waiting and after all...IRAQ WAS INVOLVED IN 9/11" and WE GOTTA "TAKE THESE IRAQI GUYS OUT!!!"

GE's Lawyers are VERY WORRIED about Russert. Chris Matthews says: "Media was Played like a Pinball Machine by these White House Guys."

Why would "Tweety" go on the air and repeat over and over that MSNBC/GE was "played like a pinball machine" to spin the propaganda from the White House.

4. You may have a point there. Will NBC point fingers at BushInc
in effort to save Russert? Could be. But, it's really their own skins they're looking after.

If they don't do some catchup journalism now, the public won't believe them next time they need to push for war.

My personal thought on Russert is that his ego won't let him get dragged down by BushInc and he may fight back to preserve himself.

12. Well that's the curious thing in all this, blm.
It seemed to me that tonight Tweety seemed to be going after Russert. He showed a Graphic that Russert had had all top FIVE Bushie Administration Official on his show prior to Iraq Invasion. His graphic showed "faces of the five." You know who it all was...Condi...Cheney..etc.

That he put up that Graphic and mentioned Russert, more than once, seemed to say to me that maybe GE is "splitting the difference?" Maybe Tweety is going after Russert's job...since Tweety "claims" (HA!) that he was "always against what he calls "the WAR" and yet he shows Russert was "shilling" for Repugs/White House.

You are a good slueth, blm....are you getting what I'm saying? Something is VERY FISHY?

13. But Russert could show footage of Tweety drooling over Bush's crotch
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 08:06 PM by blm
when he landed on the carrier.

Russert actually was doing standard operation at the newsroom, and every newsroom - guests are on a seniority basis. Any cabinet member gets priority. WH just used this to their advantage to block out airtime for dissenting voices and debate.

14. I dunno...it was "Tweety" that was always in BushCo's Crotch....wanting
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 08:05 PM by KoKo01
to get a "piece of it." Always about how "Manly Bush was" how "powerful and masterful." Many DU'ers felt it was bordering on "HomoErotica" the way Tweety went on and on "pumping the Bushie...and his apparatus."

So..it DID seem to me that it was a "move against Russert." After all, Tweety does say it's ALL ABOUT "HARDBALL." What better way to play it than to go after his Nantucket Mansion fellow dweller than to position himself as NEW for the DEMS....

Yeah...gotta say...I'm really cynical these days..:-(

15. Me too. But, I really try to see positive signs when they appear.
And I guess you do the same. No matter how cynical it can get.

5. form day one tweety called the iraq war and was against
continually asking whether what bushco was presenting was true, and whether there were other solutions than war. he was never for this war. he was the only journalist who challenged the war

6. How do you explain, then, that he allows Conservatives to Rant on while
he "Talks Over" any Dem on his show. Even tonight..which was the "Best of Matthews" he allowed Tony Blankley and John Fund to completely over-ride Tom Daschle, E.J. Dionne, Karl Levin and the Dem Guy from "Hotline" whose name escapes me.

EVERY TIME...TWEETY TALKED OVER THE DEM or MODERATE allowing the CONSERVATIVE "extra time" to get their points across.

I wrote it all down and cataloged it. I WILL give him HUGE CREDIT for David Schuster's TIMELINE!!! It was good for that.

But, watch it! It's GREAT....and trying to figure out all the "spin" is a good "exercise for our minds." ....well for my mind...maybe not the rest of you! :D...Laughing at myself, here...okay?

8. i dont like tweety i turned him and all off oct prior to election
but...... tweety was the only journalist that challenged and didnt like the war

my explanation for tweety. he didnt like clinton. something about clinton really bothered him. and that is when he started becoming a jerk. doesnt have to do with his feelings going into this war. he has a real hard on for bush, i dont get it at all. and this droning on and on years later about people would rather have a beer with a mean drunk like bush is the stupidest

regardless tweety was the only one that challenged repugs and demanded the dems challenge going into this war

7. Are you certain?
Didn't Keith Olberman question it also? Just wondering, because I didn't "discover" his show until after the "selection" of 2004. I know he was one of the "only ones" to question the legitimacy of the Ohio count for a loooong time!

10. If you are talking about "lead up to Iraq Invasion" Olbermann was OUT!
He was still doing his "sports stuff" elsewhere until MSNBC/GE called him back.

I can't fault Olbermann for the crap and lies and garbage about Iraq. It wasn't on his "pay grade" (as the Rummy Clones are so fond of saying when asked a REAL QUESTION.)

Question answered! I knew I couldn't recall having seen his point of views, on anything concerning Bush, until after the 04 election.
