I've read something really interesting today. Very Interesting.
I've read a book called "Fundamentalism". I'm sure that's not the actual title of it, I'll get it later. But, Isaac Asimov was a friend of the Author of the book. It was an Anti-Fundamentalist book and had information about "Fundamentalists Anonymous" in the appendix.

Here's what is interesting.

It said that many Muslims in the Middle East were worried that some Muslims may want to copy Christian Fundamentalists in the West and start their own Fundamentalist Movements.

Did anyone not get that?

It was published back in the 80's BTW.

Doesn't that seem odd to anyone?

Palestinians is the seed, helped by a growing exploitation of the oil countries and the people, plus invasion of the holy places by people who have litte respect for what others hold sacred - all of those reasons and a few more are the cause for fundamentalism by Moslems. I think they have all been saying the same thing and bin Laden stated it simply and clearly (but we don't accept that there are other people on the earth).

I hope there is an expert on Asimov who can explain. Copying seems like an oversimplification.

6. Odd? No.
Odd is that any semi-educated person with half a brain would buy into any of this shit!

Religion, like racism, keeps the masses arguing among themselves while
the people on top do what they do, unnoticed by the masses arguing about religion, race, etc.

In the end, it's all class warfare!

8. I have to agree with that assessment.
I've thought the same for quite some time now: that religious fervour/fundamentalism is merely a means to manipulate the masses into doing something they would otherwise not do against their own interests.

However, I do believe religion can be a constructive means of empowering peace and understanding, too.
