Hoodwinked on the Alaska Bridge to nowhere
Funding for Alaskan Bridges Eliminated
Republicans Make Largely Symbolic Move in Reaction to Criticism of Transportation Spending
<snip>
The "Bridge to Nowhere," a pork-barrel project that has attracted a lot of unfavorable attention, may not be going anywhere for a while.

<snip>
As part of the deal, Alaska will get to keep the $454 million that Congress set aside for the two bridges, and technically the state can use the transportation funds for any project it chooses -- including the bridges.

Psst: Lets tell the American people that we cut the funding for the bridges but we will let Alaska keep the money and they can do what ever they want with it.

Damn is smells in here!

1. How About We Tell Americans
How Congress just took back $100mil that was designated to be used for the ongoing health problems of the first responders at ground zero. How, NYC, who pays more taxes than Alaska has just been shafted so Alaska's Stevens can pull another of his bait and switches.

3. That's pretty weird, because Kruschev once said that
politicians are the same all over the world; they promise to build a bridge even where there was no river. Well, there may be a span of water, but with 50 inhabitans, it seems a mite expensive.
