"The Fire Next Time"
I'm watching this on Lifetime right now and it is chilling. A dystopian view of a future America where global warming has destroyed the ecology to the point where the rivers and oceans are dead, horrendous storms rage the world, and middle class Americans have been reduced to poverty stricken refugees trying to survive in a world where only the wealthy are adequately cared for.

Horrifying. In a way, its sort of a primer for life after Bush's second term.

2. Is This The One That Is A Two Part Made For TV...
movie? Does the first part deal with an impending super hurricane?

3. Exactly...
Lifetime is running it in its 4 hour entirity. Its grimly done-reminds me somewhat of the Grapes of Wrath only worse because of the weather/drought etc. Society is rapidly falling apart.

4. It Seems Like An Eon Ago,...
but I vaguely remember it. They ran promos for it for weeks. I usually don't watch "made for TV" but for some reason I took a chance. I remember that I was captivated by it. Alot of grit, dark blues and reds, and a subtlely (word?) unique story. It was not at all what I expected. I did not get to see the second part though. I think I was on a plane that night. I will have my TiVo search for a re-airing. BTW if anyone would like to know why we have to spend so much money to re-build Iraq (even though * says we didn’t destroy anything) my I recommend “The Fire This Time” by Ramsey Clark. (I know, I know, please no flames :dunce: )

Thanks

Jay
