2. the link didn't work
It brought me to a thank you for your nomination page, so I backed up the cursor to just ...personoftheyear/2005/ and they said the page was moved - no longer available.

is there a better link?

11. Try just using this link...
http://www.time.com/time/personoftheyear/2005/walkup

...then click the "Talk Back" link on the right-hand side of the page.

5. I recommended the "heart"
since last years "person of the year" was the asshole, I thought maybe we could move it up a notch.

Her outspokenness and credibility is finally starting to give the people's movement against Bush's war of occupation some legs.

Yep, the most significant thing to impact our lives this year is fucking Harry Potter. Someone pull the tweeners from the fuckin' computer.

13. Let me see you...
write a few worldwide bestsellers that are well written, then you can talk. Also Time is an international mag, not just an American mag, so worldwide impact counts for a bit.

14. Be that as it may...
mother nature exercised more power and influence over the world this year than any denizen of Hogwart's could muster.

Harry Potter may raise awareness about the plight of wizards, but mother nature raised awareness about the immediacy of global warming, the deadly consequences of poverty, and the inefficacy of government when we need them the most.

On a global scale, mother nature wins.

As for writing books- sadly, the type of lit I'd like to create isn't to popular with the populace.

And I smiled when I read all the nominations for Patrick Fitzgerald, too.
