1. Last time I started a thread for Cindy
I got nothing but replies like, "Cindy has gone off the deep end" and things like that. Someone even said we should cut her loose. She is my hero, and if it wasn't for her we wouldn't be talking about pulling out of Iraq. She gave all the greeving Mom's and Dad's a place to go with their sorrow! I love her! She started this anti-war movement!

Fweepies trying to dampen spirits... never buy negativity. And always be cautious of the overly positive.

3. A bit of comfort, perhaps
Just remember others who merely asked questions -- simple questions -- and stated a couple of simple truths:

Jesus
Socrates

And they were vilified and summarily executed by the fickle mobs.

Cindy is in excellent company.

I pray to GOD that she is named Time's "Person of the Year." Or, better yet, receives the Nobel Peace Prize.

She stands today alongside Murtha and McKinney as a clarion for truth.

42. I hope she follows him EVERYWHERE.
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 09:22 PM by calimary
And if she herself can't, then may there be OODLES of her friends and supporters doing so.

Sleepless nights. I wish him LOTS of sleepless nights. One for each American who's died on his watch, because of his negligence, incompetence, and greed. That'll take him WAY beyond his "presidency."

Cindy UTTERLY rocks. She is a woman of true courage, and she helped turn the tide of public opinion against him this past summer. It was she who softened things up for Katrina to come in and deliver the coup de grace, with Valerie Plame as a chaser.

6. what a bright star she is...
an ordinary woman with extraodinary heart who has the courage to stand up and take the heat. It's very telling how some are so willing to rip another human being for their own perceived imperfections.

On page 803 of his biography of RFK Sr, Arthur Schlesinger Jr quotes Kennedy in South Africa (in what A.S. calls RFK's most eloquent passage):

"(Let no one be discouraged by) the belief there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills -- against misery and ignorance, injustice and violence .... Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

8. Video of Carly Sheehan reading a poem about her brother
Carly Sheehan: A Nation Rocked to Sleep
A Film by Peter Dudar and Sally Marr
http://www.truthout.org/multimedia.htm

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article11079.htm

I had just finished watching this video for the first time when I came across this thread.

A Nation Rocked to Sleep
By Carly Sheehan

"Being perfected in a short time, they fulfilled long years, for their souls were pleasing to the Lord,
therefore He took them quickly from the midst of wickedness"
The Wisdom of Solomon 4:14 & 15

Have you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?
The torrential rains of a mother's weeping will never be done
They call him a hero, you should be glad that he's one, but
Have you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?

Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?
He must be brave because his boy died for another man's lies
The only grief he allows himself are long, deep sighs
Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?

Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?
They say that he died so that the flag will continue to wave
But I believe he died because they had oil to save
Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?

Have you ever heard the sound of a nation being rocked to sleep?
The leaders want to keep you numb so the pain won't be so deep
But if we the people let them continue another mother will weep
Have you ever heard the sound of a nation being rocked to sleep?

in their website list of people to vote for "Person of the Year"

At the same link on the right side bar, you can submit Cindy's name in their Talk Back forum.

31. I know; her exclusion from the list is what got me fired up
To decide my own Person of the Year and create my own cover to honor her.
I think of it as the cover that should have been.
Corporate rag politics aside, she did deserve it. Don't you think?

32. Beautiful cover, Dragonfli
A fitting tribute.

If Cindy is not named person of the year, I just might copy this and stick it on as many Time magazines as I can (before I get caught).

A big kick for Cindy Sheehan, a beacon of truth and an icon of courage.

he warned his teenage children that i "had shaken Cindy Sheehan's hand!" (Oh Blasphemer! Repent!!!)

This is the level that you have gotten under their skin!

They are wounded souls --seeking to hold onto a false image of this nation!
