Watch Senator Levin spank Chris Wallace
Wallace tries to sandbag Levin: Who's rewriting history now?

Chris Wallace plays a sound bite that he thinks President Bush of trying to connect Saddam and al-Qaeda.

Bush: Both of them need to be dealt with. The war on terror is-you can't distinguish between al-Qaeda and Saddam when you talk about the war on terror..

Wallace did everything he could to make it seem that Bush never linked to two. Is he kidding? Levin did a good job of fighting back

2. Whatever went wrong with Chris Wallace? His dad has always, to me at least
seemed to be a Liberal. That apple fell from the tree and rotted! What happened to him? He works for FAUX news, right? I haven't watched that network for years. Well, I'm off to watch the clip. Thanks for posting it! :hi:

when Mike was doing his book tour - not too long ago.

It was almost as if Mike was disappointed with him.

4. Did you see how Chris Wallace stammered after the clips were played?
I don't think he intended to play that first clip. His argument was built around the second clip- the "I don't distinguish between the two because they're both equally as bad". The first clip demolished his crap argument completely.

After the clips were played, Wallace stammered and blurted out that phrase I've heard so many right wing gasbags utter when they shoot themselves in the foot- "Uh- uh- uh- the point is-".

linked", to "Iraq and Al Qaeda were linked" in the same breath.

Right at the end- he claims that Iraq was training Al Qaeda. Well- if that's the case, then why argue that Bush never said the two were linked?

Doublethink.

10. The GOP is trying to "Undo" Bush's Poll Numbers Regarding "Trustworthiness
And they are using Fox News as its mouthpiece.

No surprise to anyone here.

But it does tell you the GOP strategy:

"Look, America you all think Bush lied our country into this war, but you got the story wrong - he never linked Iraq with al Qaeda. The democrats are just trying to make you think that to disparage our great pretzeldent"

They'll keep trying to hammer this message until poll numbers start moving their way.

Senator Levin did an excellent job!! He's my senator by the way!!!

I love that question from Levin.

The majority of American people believed Saddam was involved in 9/11 because Bush/Cheney led them to believe it!

AND FEAUX NEWS SPREAD IT LIKE WILDFIRE!

and worse, he didn't have an answer. . .just kept repeating himself trying desperately to frame the question in support of the White House. No wonder Faux News continues to be viewed as nothing more than an American Tass.

Boy Chris. You're a really bad member of the right wing propoganda machine. It appears Carl Levin chewed you up and spit you out like a piece of cheap meat.

"We have removed an ally of al Qaeda" - George W. Bush during his "mission accomplished" speech on board the USS Abraham Lincoln.

What was it you were saying Chris about how GWB NEVER tried to tie Saddam to al Qaeda?

20. Oh Chris! What say you to this:
For example, this statement by Bush on February 8, 2003:

Saddam Hussein has longstanding, direct and continuing ties to terrorist networks. Senior members of Iraqi intelligence and al Qaeda have met at least eight times since the early 1990s. Iraq has sent bomb-making and document forgery experts to work with al Qaeda. Iraq has also provided al Qaeda with chemical and biological weapons training. And an al Qaeda operative was sent to Iraq several times in the late 1990s for help in acquiring poisons and gases.

21. Hey Snoogums
:hi:

C&L just posted this:

Chris Wallace should do a little research instead of being an apologist

While trying to make the case that President Bush never linked Saddam Hussein with al-Qaeda by being a poor man's Tim Russert, all he needed to do was some minor investigating.

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and

(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

I can imagine the drones failing to "read" this critically. Anyone else reminded of the original commercial introducing the Mac?

26. Okay. Wow. Wallace played a clip..
..where Bush seemed to be linking Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein. But he didn't literally say they're in cahoots, in this one clip.

Of course, Chris "My Daddy Must Be Proud Of Me" Wallace actually tells Levin -- a guy who knows what he's talking about -- that this one video clip showing Bush allegedly not linking Al Qaeda and Bush proves that Bush never ever linked them.

Was this guy home-schooled? By a pack of dogs?

To paraphrase Wallace, "Senator Levin, are you daring to imply that the videoclip just provided to me by the White House doesn't prove that Bush never ever implied any connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda? How could you?"

27. I also emailed FNS and let them know what a great laugh they
provided on a slow Sunday morning. It was so obvious, it was funny. Even Freepers should be slapping their thighs at this one. Wallace just blew any credibility he might have had. Too bad, he could have been good, having one of the greats as a mentor but instead, he chose to go the "you're not the boss of me" route. It was a hoot though!!

Edited on Mon Nov-28-05 03:14 PM by tishaLA
and I just don't know how. In fact, Wallace bragged about it on Faux yesterday as I was flipping around before Meet the Press came on. He really thought he held Levin's feet to the fire.

I think he just wants someone to talk about the show so it will boost the poor ratings.

You have to see the whole thing, though, to see him give crazy Dick Lugar a hand job throughout the whole thing. It's shameful.

32. I have sen this absurtity before. The tactic of using the very thing that
proves the charge, being insanely turned on its head as a defense. How can anyone see this and not come away baffled at Wallace. Hence the addage, 'if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit'.

The cherry was the 'atitude' and self asuredness with which it was delivered. Wallace actually have the nerve to become indgnant and self righteous. What a baffoon.

I think this is what angers me most about those who remain in the Bushco camp. Is THIS their defense? At this point, you have to be willfully ignorant (the numbnuts who require a mythology), or actually believing this nonsense (retarded).
