2. I don't dwell on that
THere are plenty of them - the DLC as well. But while we do need to keep on eye on them, I'd rather keep a bigger eye on the Republicans and their lamebrain beliefs.

5. "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" meme
seems to be the new DLC talking point.

"The DLC? No big deal. Not a threat anymore. Deal with them later."

And while we sleep, they will make the Democrats the new corporate whore party.

10. I'm not suggesting we sleep
I do appreciate you ability to assign opinions to me, but you'll forgive me if I don't except the role of DLC spokesperson. Of course we need to keep an eye on them; and support candidates we do favor. But I don't want inter-party strife to draw attention from the Republicans; I want the attention focused over there.

14. the DLC is part of the same problem: corporate owned politicians
In states that are heavily democratic, big money doesn't just sit in a corner and pout.

They find the Democrat willing to be their bitch. The DLC puts them all in one cathouse.

Even Clinton's DLC tendencies were harmful to democracy, and he admits the harm of some of them now, like the Telecommunications Act that allowed further media consolidation and accelerated the deterioration of news on TV, and the rise right wing radio behometh Clear Channel.

NAFTA was no better for America because Bill Clinton signed it than if it had been Papa Bush.

A DLC president would be less likely to directly assault our civil rights like the Bushies. They would probably do everything else the same, including the corruption.

I would rather my lesser of two evils were more than 5% less evil.

3. somebody posted a while back about something similar in New Zealand
the equivalent of the DLC rose up through their Labor Party and Labor became so conservative that people who believed in the original principles had to form a new party.

7. Sam Johnson? You mean the Republican Congressman from Texas?
If so, he's not a Democrat.

He sounds like a Republican because he IS a Republican. :)

9. There are many Republicans registered as Democrats around the Country.
These low level operatives MO is to disrupt and contaminate Democratic Primaries, to give the Republican the best odds of winning elections. Eventually they work their way up, and actually become a Democratic Representative in the Government.

They operate in the same way that terrorist sleeper cells operate, but without the violence. Their purpose it corrupt and destroy our American Democracy, so that the 'Powers That Be' will never be managed by 'We The People.'

16. Yep.
It is their M/O too. Penetrating liberal bastions by pretending to be one of us. This is how they got into AARP, all the cable news channels and well you know where I am going. Now they are going to try to change the opposition party into them and then we will all be them. Ugh.
