"Miss. Gov. Blames Feds for Stalled Recovery"
WASHINGTON (AP) - Congressional failures to approve emergency funding for roads, schools and housing construction have stalled Mississippi efforts to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, the state's Republican governor testified Wednesday.

Without such help, Mississippi businesses are unable to decide where to relocate and rebuild - potentially costing the state jobs and chilling its economy, said Gov. Haley Barbour. His comments were among the sharpest criticism by a top Republican from the hardest-hit states of Congress and Bush administration relief efforts.

"We are at a point where our recovery and renewal efforts are stalled because of inaction in Washington, D.C., and the delay has created uncertainty that is having very negative effects on our recovery and rebuilding," said Barbour, a strong ally of House Speaker Dennis Hastert and former Republican National Committee chairman.

"It is taking the starch out of people who've worked so hard to help themselves and their neighbors," Barbour told a House panel investigating the government's preparations and response to Katrina.

2. Poor Haley
cantcha just get someone to pray the coast back to recovery. How bout some faith based road projects? Its great to see you getting in touch with your liberal side bucko. Totally amazing how that happens when people are in need and all of a sudden the gubmint ain't a bad option huh? Since I'm a resident of Mississippi Haley, I'd like to know what you did to piss our great president off. I expected the RNC hatchet job done on your neighbor to the west, Governor Blanco, but good lord haley, you are one of them. How's it feel to be neglected by republicans haley, pray tell?

5. The grand ole party
has blanco in their sights but I wouldn't bet against her. Many did during the last election, she just huffed and puffed and blew the little fascist republican opponent away, as Mary Landrieu did to her neanderthal opponent.

Many folks don't like Landrieu but she is a raving lunatic liberal compared to the total trash human being the gop ran against her during the last election. Suzie Terrell was like santorum only much, much worse.

6. Mississippi is a poor state
without any major corporations and a very red state without many electoral votes and in no danger of voting democrat. Therefore Bushco does not care about them. Why is that so hard to understand?

8. Sadly, sadly, you've told the EXACT truth...
I think poor ol' Trent Lott learned that hard lesson a few years back. Nevertheless, I'm afraid Mississippians will be the very LAST state to stop voting contrary to their own best interests. What a pity.

10. Gosh, Haley. There just isn't any money left........
what with your good pal "W"'s needless war in Iraq sucking up a quarter trillion dollars and all of those juicy tax cuts for the rich that the GOP insists on extending. There's just no money left to help you po' folk in Mississippi. Try faith, Haley. You and all your good christian buds that just KNOW you're favored before anyone else better get to prayin'. The good lord will provide for the righteous, right? What's that, Haley? The good lord is NOT providing? Oopsie, I guess maybe you're NOT favored before all in the eyes of the lord. A little faith based government ought to do the trick. Maybe those good church folk down there will pick up a shovel for the lord and dig Mississippi out of it's hole because your pal "W" isn't going to do shit for you now. He got your votes and support for two terms, but don't think he has any notion to return the favor and save the people of Mississippi. You'd better start prayin' REAL hard, Haley!

17. Well Gee there Haley as ye sow so shall ye reap
You were a high paid shill for all those years for the tobacco, drug and energy industries

http://www.davidsirota.com/2005/03/republican-dems-should-want-in-2008.html

pushing that corporatist "drown the government" agenda that your GOP (Gang of Pillagers) pal Grover Norquist was so fond of. Now that very same agenda of endless tax cuts to the rich in order to starve the government and the poor has come back to haunt you politically. A damn shame that its the poor residents of your state that are suffering for your vile perfidy. I do hope they remember that it was your rabid elitist robber hood ideology and your close Rethug allies that has cost them dearly and I hope they repay you at the ballot box and send you back to your former calling as a scuttling boot licking toady for the moneymen that pull your strings.
