Ok.they asked interesting questions about the racial divide and katrina. So lets elaborate. Do you have friends of other races........not including work/school. Have you had someone of another race over your home for dinner or a party? They didn't ask but lets include Gay people. I have had Black & Gay people over my home for dinner.I don't know any Hispanic people that I have socialized with but certainly not for any discriminatory reason. I find lesbians not open to socializing with a straight woman, I don't know why, maybe a DU lesbian can explain

1. Does a Lebanese son-in-law and a

first generation Chinese "almost" son-in-law count? Then there's my gay brother and gay uncle. Unfortunately, my daughter is divorcing the wonderful Lebanese gentleman but now she's dating a young man from Israel!

The same daughter had an African-American date to the prom and I couldn't get the photos emailed to my Republican family fast enough! :evilgrin:

And we're atheists but we've often had Christians to dinner. ;)

I'm guessing some are pinker, some darker, some lighter, some more purple too. Some come partnered with others of the same or opposite sex but we don't usually compare sexual stories, though they might hug and kiss. I prefer the 3 legger race, but other like to do the egg in a spoon race (which I only like to do it on horseback).

It's what I usually put down on forms that ask for race. For sex I write occasionally or None of your business. 3 legged race is where 2 people stand next to each other, tieing their middle legs together, then race, having to work cooperatively. Nothing nasty but I know I am sick anyway.

My husband is Chinese. We are both in our 50's. My next door neighbours are a lesbian couple (one white/one black), we socialize with them a lot.

We are pretty typical of everyone we know. However, we do live in San Francisco.

I have recently moved to a new area and don't know anyone, so I don't have anyone over for entertaining.
Anyway. I am a white, bisexual woman. I have probably more gay and lesbian friends than straight friends, since I feel more at home in the gay community (in my old area). That area was MN, so most of my friends were white, if not transparent. I dated a Native guy for quite a while. I have few friends but many acquaintances, and I'd say they are about half white, half black/hispanic/asian/indian/etc.

As to your question about lesbians, I am not sure that I can answer. Perhaps the lesbians you know are just somewhat shy? Maybe they have encountered lots of homophobia and feel more comfortable with other gay people. I really am not sure.
