Victory in Iraq!!!

The next time you here a Rethug talk about this, remind them that the goal for victory has been continually pushed out by the Bush administration.

Now, the goal for victory is a Jeffersonian Democracy and a fully trained Iraqi army.

When we were *going* to war, this was not the case.

Remember the quotes:

"It is unknowable how long that conflict will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months." - Rumsfeld

"What you'd like to do is have it be a short, short conflict" - Gen. Myers

"I think it will go relatively quickly, . . . (in) weeks rather than months." - Dick Cheney

Do you think they were planning, going in, that their criteria for the end would be a democracy and fully-trained army?

The American troops have toppled Saddam's regime, and verified that there are no WMDs to threaten us. I believe this was the criteria for victory envisioned at the outset of the campaign.

We need to declare victory and come home now.
