So what would a rw victory look like in the "War On Christmas?"
Say loofa boy oreilly and the rest of the nutjob perverts, pill-poppers, hypocrites and bigots on the right claim victory in the WOC just after Christmas - just like bush will do re: Iraq - no matter what the reality, - what will the rw WOC victory look like?

Will they claim a that yet another sluggish shopping season in the bush economy was really a result of their boycotts? Will weak sales be trumpeted as their success?

I know the whole made-up WOC is just a diversion meant to further turn Americans against Americans, to further divide and create hostility - all as a means of diversion from the tragic soiling of our nation by the oil thugs currenty dragging this nation thru the muck and ripping it and kicking it and trying all they can to ruin it, but I do wonder, when this WOC is effectively over in a week and a half, will the rw claim victory? And what will that victory look like?

1. Looks like the RW already waved the white flag.
The shopping malls won.

2. I'd guess every downtown would have Christmas decorations, TV would be...
... saturated with Christmas specials and every series would have a Christmas-themed show, 90% of Sunday newspapers would be made up of Christmas sale flyers, and several radio stations in every market would switch to nothing but Christmas music for a few weeks.

Oh, wait, we already have that.
:sarcasm:

4. Between Thanksgiving and New Years
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 02:35 PM by MadAsHellNewYorker
...the only things that can be said by citizens are "Merry Christmas" "Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior" or "Praise be Jesus" (no other use of the english language)
...everyone citizen must wear red and green
...everyone citizen must have there christmas lights up by the friday after thanksgiving...and not take them down till February
...every piece of public land, including schools and court houses, must have nativity scenes and christams trees on them
...citizens celebrating a holiday other then christmas are guilty of treason and is to be excuted
...citizens who says x-mas or happy holidays are guilty of treason and should be excuted
...the dollar will feature Santa Clause on the front and a nativity scene on the back during the Christmas Season
...only Christmas Sales are allowed

5. Can you say, "HEIL CHRISTMAS!"
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 02:41 PM by kenny blankenship

Neat ranks of uniformed shoppers lined up and facing the Big CHRISTMAS Tree in Rockefeller Ctr.. Voices lifted in unison, arms outstretched palms down, credit cards extended between index and middle finger, magnetic strip up, the canyon walls around the rink rocking with the echoes of their exhortatory Christmas cheer.

Christmas heil!
Christmas heil!
Christmas heil!

That's what a RW victory in the War on Xmas will look like.

7. spontaneous public combustion for anyone caught
using the expression "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings".

Atheists and hoe-moes rounded up and flogged just for the heck of it.

Mary worshippers given tickets and laser cannonned in traffic.

All non-babtists and other heathens required to tithe for being the downfall of western civilization.

yeah it would all be fun and games until the civil war started.

8. Read "Skipping Christmas" by John Grisham
Pretty well sums up the mis-spirit of this season's idiotic WOC. The poor main character is mercilously hammered on by an entire town for choosing not to drown himself in debt, light his house like Times Square, etc.

Merry NoMas!

10. From my fundie mother:
"My opinion is (and nothing you can say or do or send me or quote to me or try to force on me can change it) that there is a war on Christmas, Christ, the Ten Commandments, and all Christianity....."

I think that sums up the lot of em!

11. Does she live where everyone says "Merry Christmas" anyway?
Does she rarely run into anyone who would openly say that they don't celebrate Christmas?

Do the people where she lives go around emphasizing "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to each other as if they are in some sort of underground fight against THE MAN type situation?

Sounds like my mother.

Welcome to DU :hii: see my sig line, not that that would change her mind.

13. reply
"Does she rarely run into anyone who would openly say that they don't celebrate Christmas?" of course not - this is small-town western NY where she lives.

"Do the people where she lives go around emphasizing "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to each other as if they are in some sort of underground fight against THE MAN type situation?" - absolutely, it's the running joke, except that it's not really a joke to them...

She actually went to see rightwing talk radio host Glenn Beck last week (yes, actually piad for tix to see this a-hole). He kept his "I want to kill Michael Moore; the Katrina victims are scumbags; I hate the 9/11 families" comments to a minimum - apparently, the whole show was about "old time values" and great Beck family Christmases of the past. Then of course it led into the "war on christmas" etc etc, giving examples of the ACLU/secularleft progrsssive atheist etc agenda gone amok...

12. Tinsel on the Wiccans, locked in stocks in the square.
Piles of "cleansed" Muslims, stacked 'neath the chimney with care.
Snowflakes covering slums, soon to be bulldozed and neat.
And converted Judaics, dancing with flowers in streets.

The bells will be ringing, an iron and bronze chorus,
White people singing "God really WAS for us!
"Coins we have plenty, false gods we have none.
"Mom's right in her bigotry, and Dad's got a gun."

But while in their towns and their churches they gather,
In deep countries silence, something is the matter.
There is a forgotten message, to truthful, so clear,
Spoken by a mere babe these people claim to hold dear.

This is a day on which they should be kind to all men,
Be thankful, and forgiving, to each and his kin.
Yet instead they are boastful, 'or flowing with pride,
And unmindful of how empty their souls are, inside.

Please, Merry Christmas, to all. Happy Holidays too.
Whether you prefer Chanakah or Kwanza, Xmas or old Yule.
I wish you all Joy, and merriment bright,
And Peace for all Men, and sweet rest for the night.

He would have hand gernades on his belt and guns in his sack and be bloodied as hell.
